Froggy
Buy almost anybody? Not anymore. Pedro turned you down and it's light years ahead of this lad you bought. It's a panic buy and a huge risk, doesn't mean it won't work. We signed Di Maria and Falcao last season when we weren't even in Europe man. Of course we can sign almost anybody. We didn't pay for Pedro by the way, he didn't turn us down. We have basically paid a fortune for someone who is quick though. Hopefully he can develop fast. It's a huge sum. How did those signings work out? Shite that's how. And Pedro did turn you down, you are just believing Man Utd propaganda. You lined up Pedro to replace Di Maria and it all went south. Now you have some kid, who may or may not be the next Henry. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Seriously, Barcelona wanted more of the release clause up front and we didn't pay it, Chelsea did. It's as simple as that. All the other shit though, aye. We signed the next Henry before too. It was Bellion.
Figures 1-0 Football
I thought a release clause was a release clause - and no matter how/when it was paid, as long as it was met then Barca could not turn it down?

Seriously? "We pay £1 now and rest of the money in 2025." I didn't mean that ridiculously - also thought there was a limit on how long you can 'pay off' a player too (2/3 seasons?). Either way, if Man Utd offered what they said they offered - Barca could not turn it down as they offered a sensible payment plan at the amount of the release clause. BeloEmre
I guess that a release clause means that you have to pay the money up front if the selling club doesn't agree to get it in more than one payment.

As a Football Manager Expert if you don't offer the full amount upfront the club can turn it down.

Quite possibly. I just think Man Utd were talking shit either way, it's not like they couldn't afford to pay the full fee up front after spunking the cash on Martial. Mr. Snrub
Man Yoo are absolute crazy cunts now. What the heck are they playing at? http://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/article10479786.ece/alternates/w620/LVG1.jpg
leffe186
God knows what we do if Kane gets injured. Or if we actually have to play any cup games at all.

Figures 1-0 Football
God knows what we do if Kane gets injured. Or if we actually have to play any cup games at all. Or if he doesn't score. I still think Kane had a good season last season, but way above how talented he actually is and he'll struggle.
Guest
Honestly can't believe Arsenal and Spurs haven't picked up a proper striker over the past few weeks, such a glaring fault in both sides which will result in Arsenal not challenging for the title and Spurs not challenging for the top 4. Figures 1-0 Football
Leicester have completed the loan signing of Nathan Dyer from Swansea. The 27-year-old winger has made more than 130 Premier League appearances for the Swans but will spend the 2015/16 campaign at the King Power.

AY
I thought release clauses in Spain work the way that the player himself pays it and then the buying club obv pays it to said player. So why the hell Pedro would accept that kind of nonsense? VI should help us out on this one

Figures 1-0 Football
Manchester United have released a statement regarding the failed transfer of David de Gea to Real Madrid yesterday evening... •Man Utd did not seek contact from Real for the sale of David. David is a key member of our squad and the club’s preference was not to sell. No offer was received until yesterday. •At lunchtime yesterday, Real Madrid made their first offer to buy David. A deal was agreed between the clubs, which included Navas being transferred to Old Trafford. The deals were dependent on each other. •In the last several hours of the process, with Navas at the Real Madrid training ground, Real Madrid were controlling the documentation processes of David, Navas and Real Madrid. Manchester United was in control only of the documentation of Manchester United. •Manchester United sent transfer documents for both players to Real Madrid at 2042 BST. David’s documentation was returned by Real Madrid to Manchester United without the signatory page at 2232 BST. •At 22:40 BST, minutes before the deadline, major changes to the documentation came through to Manchester United which immediately put the deals at risk. •Only at 2255 BST were the documents that are needed to cancel David’s contract received by Manchester United from Real Madrid. •At 2258 BST, the transfer agreement was sent back by Manchester United, uploaded onto TMS and accepted – all before the deadline. It is our [Manchester United's] understanding that the deals couldn’t happen because: •Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents onto TMS in time (Manchester United did) •Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents to the Spanish league in time, per reports it seems some 28 minutes after the deadline The fact that Manchester United filed the papers on time was acknowledged by the Football Association, who offered to support that claim in any discussions with FIFA. The Club offered this assistance, as well as its own timestamped documents to Real Madrid but they have chosen not to go down this route. Manchester United acts appropriately and efficiently in its transfer dealings. The club is delighted that its fan-favourite double Player of the Year, David de Gea, remains a Manchester United player.
M4
Let me guess, Man Utd acknowledge everything in Real Madrid's press release is correct and they apologise profusely.
Figures 1-0 Football
Why not do the deal in the three months prior to deadline day? No sympathy at all for any of them.
