Incognito
For every Dion Dublin though they had a Jean Guy Wallemme. Or a Nii Lamptey. Or a Steve Morgan. Or a Julian Darby. Cyril Regis was fucking ace though On his day, absolutely unplayable.
Big Geordie
Aye. A proper beast of a centre-forward He and Keith Houchen were fantastic during their 87 cup run.
Nattfare
It was funny by the way when Huckerby played in the MLS and they treated him like he was a world class player.

Dave Bennett was the catalyst behind that Cup season. Should've received a call from Bobby that year.

Were Wigan not still in stripes when they won? Honestly cannot remember

Incognito
Away kit of black. My short term memory is awful ,it really is. Did Wigan wear stripes when they won it?
Incognito
Dave Bennett was a good winger in his day. Brother of Gary, from the mackems. I was with the Cov fans when Gary Bennett and David Speedie were fighting at Joker Park. Speedie landed not ten yards from me.
mrmojorisin75
Looking at those highlights he looks a lot stronger: his finishing (and movement) yet again is outstanding He's definitely an all out number 9 for me: One thing I've noticed from every goal I've watched of his so far is that he's scored none of then from chasing an aimless 60 yard punt upfield from a shite CB. Imagine that John Carver, imagine that.

Cracking player though. One of the best players in the air I've seen. 5-7" but regularly outjumped six footers.
Big Geordie
He was OK, but I wouldn't go that far. His negatives far outweighed his positives!
Incognito
He was OK, but I wouldn't go that far. His negatives far outweighed his positives! In my incarnation of watching Coventry with my mates most Saturdays in the 80s, I'd wholeheartedly disagree.
jimmymag
Get him back now! Natural goalscorer and can see him pairing up nicely with Mitro and getting the goals we need.

AyeDubbleYoo
Would be silly to interrupt Armstrong's good season and Perez/Mitrovic partnership IMO, leave them all be.
HawK
Would be silly to interrupt Armstrong's good season and Perez/Mitrovic partnership IMO, leave them all be. The best thing for Newcastle United and Adam Armstrong is that he doesn't play a first team game for this club for at least the rest of this season and the following season. Finish as the L2 top scorer this season, that will be his goal. Following season, get him at a Championship club like Middlesbrough so it's not too far from home and see how he does. We've ruined a fair few young players by mishandling their development and chucking them in too early, killing their confidence. He needs to build his confidence to be able to take his chances and not always worry about shooting or passing when he comes back to compete for a starting place. oldtype
In general the best way to develop a young player is probably to keep him away from NUFC for as long as possible.
The College Dropout
If Mitro & Perez can score more goals and we don't get in another striker, i'd be happy for him to come in as #3 striker next season.
Steggy
Anyone who is genuinely suggesting we recall him from his loan is thick as houmous. Why disrupt his development? Let him have a full season of this and then see where he's at.
