duo
Sent to the reserves and not given shirt number by a manager who headbutted a player and abused another manager but kept his job, seems fair. To be fair to Pardew it's not his fault he kept his job. Two wrongs don't make a right. As much as it pains me to say I'm actually with Pardew on this one - just look at the lad: https://twitter.com/samuelJayC/status/490203541991325696/photo/1 If he wanted to prove a point he would have been in top shape for the start of the season - see Cabaye for comparison: https://twitter.com/dembabafoot/status/351764448794521600/photo/

I don't see how marginalising him further is going to help.

Or one that makes him look even bigger for that matter. The main thing is, can he play and are we a better team with him in it, we are. Pardew and the club want him out because he has only a year left on his contract and want money for him, and after some disgusting treatment and escape goating last season, it's more transparent that ever that's the aim. Added to the fact Hatem has called Pardew out for the useless sack of shit manager he is. The King can't have that can he ?
ponsaelius
If Pardew was anything other than a total cunt he'd be doing everything possible to have Ben Arfa and Cabella in the same side next season.
Tiresias
A good manager would have him motivated and ready to go. When he knows Pardew is going to stick him to the reserves no matter what where's the motivation to get fit? I don't buy it anyway, clearly club is trying to force him out through bullying and I suspect an embarassing employment tribunal is on the way. Wullie
All the bullshit comments along the lines of "he's obese, the lazy cunt" conveniently ignore the identical treatment of Marveaux having turned up in great condition. The facts are that Alan Pardew is a cunt and that's where the story ends.

If he feels he has no future at NUFC ,surely he should try to stay in shape in order to attract a club that actually does want him.
henke
If he isn't in our first team next season it'll mean a criminal failure on the part of Alan Pardew. Someone mentioned this is the same bloke that headbutted an opposition player, how the fuck he's still in a job amazes me. He's not fit to coach a pub team. It clearly isn't, because by your own admission there are players who've been treated worse who've acted far more like athletes should.
Alberto2005
Ben Arfa should take responsibility for his fitness levels, there is no excuse why he shouldn't be in shape.

Tiotes Witch Doctor
I blame Pardew for the treatment of Ben Arfa and for ruining him as a player, but hes certainly not doing himself any favours. If he was really was interested in playing then he should have returned in tip top shape, surely he realises that if he is out of shape that no other team will want him aswell, not to mention him not getting a game for us. Is he really happy with sitting in the reserves for a full year, if so again that tells us a bit more about HBA than it does about Pardew.
Guest bimpy474
He was in no different shape when he tore Stoke apart, his reward was to be dropped. Sums Pardew up, no one is allowed to out shine that cunt. The headbutt is a prime example of everything is about him. Thanking himself about a transfer. The list is endless. I can't belive people are backing Pardew pov over this, utterly swallowed the cunts line.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
I agree with it being 90% Pardews fault, but you can't deny he really does look out of shape for a professional player. The question I suppose is whether or not if affects his performance or fitness levels. Have they actually bothered to put him through his paces or is it just an excuse to get shot of him "you look fat, get out"

Much though it pisses me off how Ben Arfa's time here has been mishandled, he's a professional footballer and should look after himself. I always thought that about Nolan so same goes here. Tiotes Witch Doctor
Fully agree that had it been one of the managers favourites who came back with a bit of chubb nothing would have been said on the matter.

Sorry mate i don't disagree with you that often but this i do, people are falling for it. Whether Hatem is overweight or not, that was argued last season and when he played he was ok, Everton aside and the whole team played crap first half but he got picked out. Pardew's unfair treatment of him is rubbing off on people whether they realise or not.

Guest bimpy474
What are you actually disagreeing with Bimp? That he's that out of shape, i really don't see it. All i see is a player who isn't picked because the manager's ego didn't like his failing as a manager being pointed out. Hatem is no different to last season, played well dropped. Given 20 minutes blamed for defeats. Just rank bad treatment.
duo
Ben Arfa isn't helping himself - I'm annoyed as I so want to see the him play. Yet the lad seems to have just lost interest. I want to see him lean, mean and banging on Pardews door.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
I absolutely love the guy, I think he should be starting every game for us, however when you look at this: He really doesn't look in the best shape, of course I have no idea how much this affects his fitness, if at all.
