NUFC Songbook

I f***ing hate the "and Shola from Fenham shot one down" chant thing. First heard it when I was at Arsenal. Some absolute knobends where trying to start it off but failed, then on Sunday it was just pathetic. There was only like 10/15 people trying to start it at the back of the corner and after about 5 minutes no-one was catching on, they just kept going. Sort of killed the atmosphere in the corner a little bit.

I thought it was amusingly s**** to be honest. Nevertheless, those lads are what keeps the corner going 90% of the time so cannot be too harsh on them for one s**** song. They know they're old songs and have created a lot of the new good ones which are slowly getting out.

Also, why not try and get another song going if that is the case? It may not be your cup of tea to start a song but the best way to get them to shut up is by out-singing them. I tried but my voice was canny fucked by then.

The Blaydon Races still massivley p*ss me off like.

SING THE FIRST VERSE RIGHT! AND SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWER.

That is all.

I do try to correct it but in vain.

The Scotswood Road line 3 times  :huff:  Once at the end of the first verse (wrong) some sing it in the middle of the chorus (wrong) and again at the end of the chorus (correct).

Absolutely no need to sing it so fast either, it sounds horrendous.

His name is Papiss Cisse,

he wears the number nine,

and when he saw St.James Park said 'Where's the fucking sign'?

He never signed for Sunderland,

he caught a different flight,

a geordie boy from Senegal he's fucking dynamite!

Cheers lads. :D

I can only take partial credit for this one. It was written with a mate. We thought it was high time to get another one out there as it's over a year since we came up with the Tiote chant.

To the tune of

Another shot, another save, Timmy Krul

Another cross another take, Timmy Krul

When you play for Holland, I still love you,

The best in the league, your Timmy Krul

this season had me thinking does any club sing a version of this, if not why not (us)?:

To dream the impossible dream

To fight the unbeatable foe

To bear the unbearable sorrow

To run where the brave dare not go

To write the unwritable wrong

To be better far than you are

To try when your arms are too weary

The reach the unreachable star

This is my quest, to follow that star

No matter how hopeless,

No matter how far

To fight for the right

Whithout question or pause

To be willing to march into hell

For a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true

To this glorious quest

That my heart will be peaceful and calm

When I'm laid to my rest

And the world would be better for this

That one man scorned and covered with scars

Still strove with his last ounce of courage

To reach the unreachable star
