I’m just not overly keen on them rehashing old shirts as their first offering just a bit dull. Like you say tho wait and see
Stifler
28 minutes ago, Kid Icarus said: For me I think it's all the hype surrounding it, the 'elite' club status, only for it to be a standard club template and a really boring one at that. Proper zero effort. Yeah, but I have noticed that all of Adidas’ home shirts are based on a template, all the goalkeeper shirts are all the same. Watch the MLS for what we’ll get. Elite club status gets shirts sold worldwide, long sleeved shirts (not sure if it’s home only), and a shit ton of club branded Adidas stuff. I think people wanted Adidas back because of the classic maroon and blue away shirt. We’ll likely get a re-issue of that and may some others at some points, £120 first though please. I actually think home shirt wise Castore did good for us, except for that huge number 4 we had one year. The issue was always how they could ramp up production, and their delivery limitations. From a business point of view it was their marketing abilities, and the amount they could offer us.
Elliottman
31 minutes ago, gdm said: Not sure I get this. The castore shirts weren’t following any sort of template? The away shirts aren’t using a template? I'd imagine Castore don't sponsor and produce anywhere near the amount of shirts Adidas do Worldwide. The templates will be necessary for production purposes you'd assume. Harry 209
With reference to templates - with adidas and Nike, you will 100% get a template home shirt. However it is possible to put unique design elements into them to produce interesting shirts. The current Man Utd shirt is a good example with the sublimated rose pattern that covers the shirt. Likewise Arsenal with the lightning pattern. Unfortunately, from the leaks we've seen, there are zero unique design elements in the NUFC shirt which is why so many people find it very disappointing. Harry 209
Personally, I would have liked to see the 'fangs' done in silver to reference the 80s away shirts so many of us loved, and the round NUFn badge on the back of the neck to tie into that.

Yorkie
The 'wait till you've seen it' condescension can't really be applied when we're looking at a template that has already been worn by other teams. I actually don't mind the fang detail because if you're using a template, details like that element provide an opportunity to integrate something individual and unique. So if there's anything I'll withhold a view on it's what they do with them for us.
TheBrownBottle
For what’s it’s worth I think Castore’s designs have been pretty solid. No idea re quality or price as I’m not a gadgie who buys them, and I haven’t got kids to buy them for. Just wish they wouldn’t fuck around with black and white stripes - it’s not hard. They can easily fart around with trims etc so that they can push another new one out every two years.

From what I've been told/shown, the Gallowgate Shots pics are spot on (i'd not seen them when I posted last night, have now). Can't share the pic on here as would get the person who sent it to me in trouble. PRL
Hmm... I was just looking at this one from GS, and they looked like full stripes... same as what I've seen... may well be what they look like worn in that case. Should have kept my mouth shut!
Guest
That white panel looked bad when it's flat but obviously fills out. I really like the kit if it turns out like the Barnes photo. Edited May 14 by Optimistic Nut
GavMcEl
Think its OK tbh... with the shite puma released from 2011-2016 between waist coat and tie designs, stupid spikes, blue lines, black Vs on the front and blue splashes at the bottom.... it has to be really horrible for me to get offended these days.... saying that I have to say i have liked every offering that Castore have produced, even that 130th anniversary shirt with the Paisley design on it grew on me.... think design and quality where miles better than puma... and thought they were really smart with the design process, keep it simple with the home, and then you can go a bit mad with the away and 3rd.... Unpopular opinion but the 1st jersey they gave us, (the one with the 4 on the front) was probs my fave... love when our kit is predominantly black and that season was just a special period in my life personally, moving in with my fiancee (now my wife) planning or wedding, my stag do, the birth of my 1st born a day before the takeover, so seeing that kit really evokes special memories.... The thing with Castore was ultimately production issues and quality issues (although the Castore gear I Own is decent quality) the only issue I have personally was the sizing, last years home xxl fitted like a glove, and this years xxl was rather roomy ? But all in all when I think back to our time with Castore it will bring back pleasant memories of getting our club back and getting in the CL.... But from watching the game on the TV on Saturday, this season's home has to be our highest selling jersey in years, since the adidas days at least, every time the camera panned to the crowed looked like every other person was wearing one.... If I could have one complaint about the new adidas jersey, if the one in question is accurate, then it has to be that there's no stripes on the back... it's not surprising tbh seeing that if we qualify for Europe, then there will be a patch on the back... so spose it makes sense that the jersey you buy will be the exact replica of the one the players will wear... was really surprised at how positive the feed back on here was with the jersey we wore in the CL last season with the patch on the back ...
