Just tried that.  Won't let me add to basket.  Even though it shows as in stock.

Aye, I had both sweat and drill in basket at 9:20 and was having similar issues.

I picked up the away top on Adidas site just now, seems it's the training gear that is mad popular.

Seems a very silly selling strategy. I understand the FOMO aspect they're preying on but surely it would be better for all concerned if they just made enough stuff to satisfy demand over a longer period.

Proper scabs some people, lucky enough to get a large one off a mate who headed to the metro centre. EBay is disgusting right now with the resellers.

What's the prices like ?

We are going to end up with a situation where it is limited to 1 per customer.

Ha I did . However I am expecting an apology from you -.... "don't panic" he said. :) Thank goodness I did panic and was prepared this morn

I actually got more than I needed or desired. Will come back on here in coming weeks to see if anyone is in need of any spares (if they don't restock that is)

Just stick your spares on eBay for £180. Everyone else is buddy.

I got the away shirt and t-shirt, very happy.

The new marketing strategies of creating limited supplies are interesting and I can why companies limit supply to create artificial demand.

In what other planet do you intentionally not release enough gear? In the psr age aswell

To continue to generate hype? If people are burnt after not getting their jumper they will probably sign up for Mags+?

I feel like we're in the age of 'limited edition' everywhere. Manufactured scarcity is in.

Which is especially stupid in this case considering they're not even pricing it any higher than usual club gear and how many of our fans will so obviously eat this stuff up.

Fair few staff this morning before 9am taking handfuls of items for themselves and putting them in the back

Online orders perhaps.

Just checked and no sweatshirts in store at the club shop, JD or Fenwick's as of 11:45. Plenty away shirts and t-shirts in the club shop still but pretty poor overall stock levels.

Things being out of stock feels like a very new thing in capitalism. Can’t help but wonder if they just can’t manufacturer enough or get it shipped reliably, so they flip into a scarcity angle in order to seem cool rather than unable to satisfy demand.

I don’t even bother with stuff I think will sell out, can’t be bothered.

By not overcommitting on inventory they both don’t expose themselves on cost and generate hype and FOMO.

I lashed out on a drill top and a shirt yesterday.  If I knew they were going to be in free supply I would have possibly been on the fence with the shirt and picked it up when it was discounted.

They sell out immediately without any/very little stock to discount.
