Have actually had pals of mine who support other clubs and who I would never, ever, ever, ever talk to about football strips message me to say they've seen our new shirt and it looks tragic.

Last time I got this much of an outpouring of emotional support was when my nanna accidentally posted a picture of her growler on Insta because she hadn't been shown how to set her account to private.

Same.

The shirt thing, not my nanna's growler.

The shirt just adds fuel to two tier policing.

You will literally get locked up for being English and wearing an England shirt in England, but you won't be arrested for wearing a crime against fashion.

I don't even think it's the shade of blue, it's the weird fatness of the stripes that is incongruous with the rest of it.

To be clear I still love it

All new Adidas stuff has that.

Got the long sleeve home top and that black top with the blue and white design on the top. £20.60 all in from DH Gate.

All for backing the club but I can't afford to spend the guts of £200 on two t-shirts for fucks sake.

I’d say 97-99 was poor too. The base design was decent enough but details brought it down.

The itchiest collar known to human kind, fabric so cheap and thin that it would be embarrassed by tracing paper, and that absurd shield shaped back panel. Design wasn't bad, but thought the stripes were a little too narrow

Let us know how they are mate, might have to join you. Prices are a joke this year, especially in this economy.

It was the same last season and is the same for all clubs.

They seemed to manage a single sleeve for FC Copenhagen as well as a nice looking kit: https://www.adidas.co.uk/fc-copenhagen-2025-2026-fourth-jersey-long-sleeve/KB4526.html

Am I also right in thinking that the actual player shirts are just a single sleeve, so the "long sleeve authentic" is, in fact, not authentic? Obviously there are always differences anyway and it's never a 100% player shirt but it's a poor show when they want £125 a shirt

The players long sleeved version is usually a single sleeve, ours and a few teams this year though still have it as 2 pieces. This is our first year with the long sleeved players version.

Aye that's what I mean, I quite fancied the authentic long sleeve version but it looks crap like it does, was looking at it in the shop earlier. Probably doesn't help I find adidas stuff in general fairly ropey in terms of quality for the price either mind, although I could probably say that about most sportswear brands these days.

Most of my running gear is adidas, hardly survive more than half a dozen washes and the logos are peeling off.

The thick adidas stripes are just so shit, I can’t believe they’re using them on all kits this season

I'd love to hear about the decision making process behind it. I guess it's to do with visibility; i.e. making the brand mega visible even on the smallest screens, or at distance. They're properly in your face on close-ups; almost distractingly clear. Huge and super high contrast wherever possible (which explains the choice of vivid blue on ours). You better fucking believe you're looking at an Adidas product, people!

Looks like a very deliberate attempt to make the brand dominate every context it's seen in.

It's a bit enshittificationy.
