I'll say it again because it seems to have been missed, if people have actual viable plans for how to get rid of Ashley, then lets hear them. You can claim all you want that my lack of ideas is somehow support of Ashley, or somehow means I can't criticise people who are trying to 'do something', both things are patently false. But if all you have is this idea we must follow the SackPardew strategy of informing the press about stuff they already know, turning the fans against a man they already hate, and generally cranking up the NUFC circus to 11, then I'll keep telling you that you have no viable strategy.

Personally, I think we need to make the club toxic to Ashley and his shitty brand, how we do that is another question.  We also need to keep at it once we start because nothing is going to happen just because we want it to.

Ashley has to know he's hated and we're not putting up with his shit anymore.

People think that the crowd size doesn't matter and that's bullshit.  If the size of the crowd didn't matter we wouldn't have 10 year season tickets which lock you in after a certain date each year.  I think the crowd being irrelevant is just an excuse for people to carry on going to the match.

Ha. Tell that to the fans of Hereford United, or all the other clubs whose fans no longer have anything to support, not even a shell.

Hereford  did you really just type Hereford?

What of it? You find it funny? Seeing an actual club disappear? As opposed to just being run differently to the way you want.

My point was that SackPardew was not a success, therefore AshleyOut, which is being run by the very same people, should not be the go to place for ideas and strategy. I want Ashley out, but I certainly do not want the club to be destroyed in the process. My solution is not to do nothing, but I see no value in pretending anyone has even come up with a viable strategy yet. I asked a while back if anyone had their own concrete ideas, people ignored it and instead just doubled-down on attacking me for things I've never said or done. Maybe that's why everyone is losing their s*** in here, perhaps they don't want to be reminded of just how futile the situation is. You can get rid of countless managers, especially if you're not above making them cry.....getting id of the fat man is a whole other ball game, at least from where I'm sitting.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is that good men do nothing.

He's not a 'good man' though, he's prepared to do precisely nothing. He'll be there week in, week out, giving Ashley his coin just so some faceless people up and down the country think he's loyal. He's that bothered by the opinion of others he'll tacitly endorse the behaviour and mismanagement of Ashley and Charnley. And he's happy to pay them to do it.

Spends more time and effort having a pop at people who are willing to try and cause change than to target the c*** causing the problems in the first place. The very worst type of "fan".

Liar Liar pants on fire. If you bothered to pay attention to what I've said, you'd know Ashley hasn't got a penny from me in a long time, not even indirectly. I endorse nothing. Indeed I've been quite clear he's no good for the club.

Never a truer word spoken. The meekest of the meek.

What are you doing to try to resolve the problems at the club you've acknowledged exist?

Well, I'm not trying to organise a mass suicide pact, as that seems to be your idea.

I'd rather be meek any day than be seen to be acting like a massive drama queen just because someone chooses to run my club in a way I don't like, but isn't in reality putting it in mortal danger, in the process insulting fans who have actually had the shitty end of that particular stick.

The more you rage about these being the end times, the less people will care if, God forbid, in a few years time we do find ourselves in the lower leagues, with Ashley weighing up whether he should palm us off to the scrap metal dealer cum wind turbine merhant, or just wind us up out of pure fucking spite.

 Honestly man, grow some fucking balls, get some principles and stand up for what you believe in and stop posting about how shit scared you are about looking fickle in front of total strangers or getting relegated or fat Mike getting upset and selling us to a scrap fucking metal dealer ffs

Sports Direct is not a brand anyone can toxify - it is a company which sells tat and uses cheap labour. Not even Wonga could toxify Sports Direct by association.

Aye, of course not. Little clubs don't matter. It's only when NUFC isn't run properly, I mean er "destroyed", that it's serious business. Come off it. Offensive is offensive. Crass is crass.

pathetic drones.

That ship sailed long ago. And it's hardly a problem unique to NUFC either. But it is particular sad to realise that it was the fans of this club which actually managed to organise a takeover of an ineffective & unambitious regime to install SJH not too long ago. Maybe folks need to read up on just how that takeover was achieved, and give the AshleyOut folks some pointers. Sad to say it was just before my time, but no doubt I'l be pilloried for not knowing how it was done or being willing to research it - you're either part of the solution or part of the problem, right?

You don't know how the club was taken over yet you tell people to research how it was done, why?

The club was basically owned by a group of shareholders who had very little money and John Hall tracked them down (with the help of others, one being a forum member) and offered them money they couldn't refuse.  It took years, the threat of relegation to the 3rd division and a man with more money than the people who effectively owned the club so it's irrelevant to our current setup and what would be required to get Ashley out.

Who said little clubs don't matter?  Oh, it was no one, it was something you've just invented to try and get around mentioning Hereford, a club that has nothing to do with us in the slightest.

Irrelevant? It sounds like the only plan anyone here has actually advocated as 'proper action' - get the club relegated and into a financial mess, in the hope someone buys out Ashley, and then just pray like fuck we can do what Leeds and Sheffield Utd and a host of other big clubs haven't managed to do, and regain our place at the top table. I would tend to agree it's not a workable plan now in this era, but if it's the only one out there, it perhaps shows just how little people appreciate about the situation the club finds itself in. How I keep getting shot with shit for not having my own ideas is beyond me. You might as well be castigating me for not knowing how to sort out the Middle-East for all the sense it makes.

My mistake, I must have misinterpreted your epic laughter at the thought of Hereford fans perhaps not quite agreeing that what Ashley has done is "destroy" NUFC.

Is there a specific reason you think this should all be sorted from the outset, that the entire strategy should be all laid out on day one?

No one thinks it's going to anything but a difficult war of attrition to get rid of this twat, hopefully this is the catalyst for ideas and protests to develop organically over time, they don't even necessarily have to be led by AO, in fact if thing are happening on their own then all the better.

But aye, they've not released a manifesto outlining their every idea and strategy so that's that then

Just read the Guardian blog that went out before the derby, which basically summed up the whole Ashley era, and much more besides. Conclusion: you have got to be completely deluded if you think there's anything that can be done to get Ashley out. The moment he decided that NUFC was going to be run as a business rather than his hobby, that was when our fate was sealed.

You can't shame him out, you can't buy him out, you can't protest him out, you can't do anything to him that he has not already shown himself more than capable of dealing with by simply ignoring any and all criticism. He straight up flat out does not give a monkey's left testicle what happens at the club, as long as it is ticking over in mid-table, or at the very least remaining in the PL. He doesn't care what the council thinks, he doesn't care what the government thinks, he probably doesn't even open letters from the FA, who lets face it aren't about to bust a gut to stop a club being 'well run' anyway. If you don't have a court order, you're not going to make him do a damn thing he doesn't want to do.

The media already know full well we are sick of him, but since nothing he does in his business requires the media to be on his side, that's neither here nor there. He is very clearly waiting for the new TV deal income to bed in and make the finances look even better than they already do, at which point he may be considering putting it up for sale. Or he may not. He will be wanting his entire loan paid off by any potential buyer, which means someone is going to be paying a hell of a lot upfront for the TV income, which is as always, at risk of the club being relegated. So that pretty much excludes any sensible businessman. And I think with FFP and through general bad experiences of the likes of Randy Lerner, the days of other millionaires or billionaires just buying a club to live the dream, are well and truly over. It can't be a good omen that Lerner can't seemingly give Villa away.

The only plausible action is a permanent and unrelenting mass boycott of matchdays. Not for part of a match or the first game, but for as long as it takes. If Ashley Out is to have any purpose, it must be to focus solely on that one goal - persuading as many fans that it is in their own long term interest if they want Ashley out, to have SJP's stands completely empty, to have highly paid footballers running around with Wonga on their shirts in a stadium completely devoid of atmosphere, simply to fulfill their obligations to the TV companies, regardless of the effect on our league position.

Such a boycott could only succeed if it was given loud public backing from the FSF, the Chronicle, public figures and MPs/councillors - a couple of hundred hardcore net nerds handing out flyers isn't going to cut it - believe it or not, you are largely invisible to the wider fan base. But I see no issue with that, they have nothing to lose and indeed would gain public admiration. The aim of the boycott wouldn't be to cripple the finances so much that a sale becomes necessary, it would be to pressure the PL and the broadcasters to force Ashley to sell as quickly as possible, lest the grubby dishonesty of their entire business model be exposed through the campaign gaining international media attention.

But of course it's a complete fantasy to even think this is remotely possible - for two reasons. One, it's a complete pipe dream to think you could ever reach the point where the stadium is empty - even if the assumption that more than half the fans want Ashley out is correct (which it arguably isn't), you still likely wouldn't be able to overcome the 'support the team, not Ashley' mindset in the remainder. And two, even if it happened, the PL and the broadcasters have no leverage over Ashley to force him to sell. He holds the club's share, the club can't be voted out of the league while it's still fulfilling its fixtures, and he will sue the TV company and the league should they not stick to their contracts.

So there you have it. You demanded to know what my idea was, and that's my best advice. If you've got nowt better, then I better not hear anyone giving me shit again about how I'm supposedly an Ashley supporter just because my chosen method of protest is to simply not go and not buy, and otherwise not want NUFC to be portrayed as a bunch of half-assed mugs because they can't organise a protest or even get rid of a bad manager without making him look good and without us ending up with someone even worse.

I'm not doing any of those things. I'm saying the campaign made us look fickle, which is a different thing entirely. I'm also saying the SackPardew campaign methods and strategy was suspect, and therefore those people shouldn't be put in charge of an Ashley Out effort, because they're likely to f*** it up and somehow make the situation worse, if that's possible. I have no idea what my 'outlook' is supposed to mean. Maybe you're trying to claim that because I am critical of SackPardew I must have been a fan of his? You'll never really understand my point if you're not even paying attention to what I say.

fickle

ˈfɪk(ə)l

adjective

changing frequently, especially as regards one's loyalties or affections.

I don't think I know a single person who has liked, then hated, then liked, then hated Pardew or Ahsley. Fickle isn't the word you are looking for unfortunately.

I don't think I've ever seen people deliberately ignore someone's point for so long, just so they could construct their own straw man arguments to refute and attempt to make the other guy look stupid.

One. Last. Time.

I did not say the fans were fickle.

I did say the SackPardew campaign made them look fickle.

I did not say you had to care that's what it made them look like.

End. Of.

Pretty obvious from this part, that you haven't even looked at their website in the first place
