Stones and Martinez discussing Dostoyevsky over a glass of port after training

He's not the right man to promote youth anyhow. The likes of Rooney,Jagielka, Cahill etc should have been gently moved on. Let's have some youth. Let's try and build for 2020 and 2022. Something Hodgson should have done but didn't.

Promote youth? He's trying to persuade John Terry to come out of retirement. The only thing Fat Sam will be promoting is long ball football.and bacon sarnies.

So you're agreeing then [emoji1]

I'm not a massive fan of Cahill but we don't have 3 CBs better than him. Blatantly should be in the squad.

Irrespective of who is better now, this approach hasn't worked of playing your best now in spite of no longevity. Aim for 2020.

So who would you pick ahead of Cahill with the aim of 2020?

Woodgate at Real was. Plenty before that. Maybe if some of our lot went abroad and tried rather than take the safe option and the cash, there'd be more.

Exactly, there is no one.
