Karl Darlow (now playing for Leeds United)

Recommended Posts

He's on course to be one of our best keepers - better than Krul in my opinion and this is the 3rd pen I can remember him saving(Cabaye's last season was vital). He doesn't panic and does everything with a cool head.

Did NOT deserve to be a loser in this game.

i'll admit i've not seen massive amounts of him but he looks to be a very good shot stopper with excellent reactions but beyond that there's question marks over him for me, positioning etc.

Good memory - they scored form the rebound I think. Obviously can't trust these stats: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/shay-given/elfmeterstatistik/spieler/3146

Given's small for a keeper with fairly short arms, that's why he wasn't much good at saving them. Coaching ffs. [emoji38]

That was about Krul.

Given was a very good shot stopper.  Rest of his game was poor though.

I don't know what I'm 'doing'?  No one has said you can't criticise Darlow for his positioning of the goals (he was at fault) and I don't know what the criticism Sels has to do with it either.

Is my memory hazy or didn't Mathieu hit the post/send it wide

EDIT:

When Shola Ameobi made it 2-0 only 49 seconds after the interval Newcastle were on their way, but Sochaux continued to create and the night would have been considerably more fraught had Jeremy Mathieu converted a 63rd-minute penalty. That came after a foul by Olivier Bernard but Mathieu dragged his shot woefully wide.
