£15m is a good price for Ritchie.

I'm still struggling with finding a good reference point for the crazy prices these days, so I'm not sure if it's an amazing fee or a low one. It was much easier when £15m was considered a huge signing.

He's at peak or has past his peak considering his chronic lack of pace.  Getting our money back on him is decent business.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ritchie as a CM at point, think he could be good there.

I don't really get this tbh, CM is a pretty specialist position, I don't think he could play there

He's not that good at tackling as well which would be massive requirement for him playing centrally.

£15m for a 29 year old, that's a cracking deal in my view.

It's a decent price for Townsend IMO, could be an England player again under Rafa.

He means Matt Ritchie. Townsend is only 26.

the fuck

I thought Townsend was a "late bloomer" and expected him to be around 29 now. All of a sudden im way more positive to him coming back even though it was a really stupid decision of him to stay in the PL when we went down.

I think Kenedy was better than Townsend was (and also has far more potential), but broadly agree with that assessment. I'd happily see the back of Ritchie to get more pace and quality on both flanks.

Especially handy for a Rafa side that likes to sit deep when out of possession and counter quickly. I think Ritchie was better suited at Bournemouth where they play a high pressing game.

AM maybe? Spot on that he would work deeper.

Also as mentioned 15m is a decent price. I love his work rate and passion. I prefer Townsend though so wouldn't be too dissappinted with the switch out if it happened. Bit like Mitro and mbemba, rafa works with them day in day out. If he thinks somebody works better or they don't work good enough in his system and for what he wants then it's best they go.

Ritchie is basically Scott Sellars - great championship/average prem player, and you'd always upgrade him with Ginola

We have to remember that keeping Townsend was Rafa’s first choice. Signing Ritchie was ultimately a response to losing that player.

If we can sell a player to bring in a better one we should always do that.

Probably, but then who's Ginola in this situation?

Pace it's all about the pace and as a counter attacking team, it's all about that pace on the break.

Yeah agree with that. Rafa loves pace in the team.

Aye and as much as Ritchie has been brilliant for us in many ways, his lack of pace slows us down. I love Townsend, he's direct and commits players, think he shades it for me if i had to choose.

Same. Not for £30m though.

Fucking right, £15m to £20m in today's market i suppose and if Ritchie does go for £15m, £0m-£5m is a steal as a replacement.
