He continued: "I think it will be, I don't think you can hide the facts, that will be the case, yes. People will be flat because they are hoping that something is going to dramatically change - it can't dramatically change, it can't."

He can't change it . Why go there then?

Surely he means, it cant change overnight. Which is a fair point, but not something you should be openly saying

Not like he's saying he can't change it to top 8 overnight but surely a comfortable 12th place or something isn't unattainable or what's the point in going there?

43,515 there today.

Bollocks was there.

They've literally plucked that figure from thin air

1000s upon 1000s of empty pink seats all over. 35,000 at most there today and that's despite them handing out 5k free tickets to underprivileged kids and to various workplaces across the North East through their Foundation of Light charity.

Attendance is actually "tickets distributed"... So yeah, you could give them all away and it would still count as attendance.

What you can´t fool is matchday income!

The foundation of light was originally started and funded by the club but it now provides level 2 qualifications to attendees so it qualifies for government funding, so if the free tickets come from there then our taxes will be paying for them.

That's £13 a ticket on average if their 43,000 avg attendance is to be believed.

Took the p*ss out of our 48,200 against Reading.

42k for a local derby in the division above! Why can't they fill the ground with the mermaids and pirates from that North Sea catchment area?

It's called "mackem logic".
