Benwell Lad
This is just the sort of game that wretched Sunderland teams have bizarrely won in the past. Massive gulf in class but if you could choose any time to play a top side it must be best around the holiday period.
Benwell Lad
Has an 'our fans' thread sprung up on RTG yet? Or will that come after the game? They recently decided that attendances weren't important any more. However that will most likely change today and there will be a dozen or so threads patting themselves on the back despite thousands of ftm's padding the crowd out. Sima
Defoe 1-0 is 65/1. Worth a couple of quid.
Wallsendmag
Defoe 1-0 is 65/1. Worth a couple of quid. Certainly is. Ridiculous price that! It's football and anything happen. He could hit a trickler from 25 yards and it could ricochet off an errant beach ball, completely wrong footing the Keeper and it could finish 1-0. Stranger things have happened. ponsaelius
Not selling out at home to Liverpool when all kids tickets are £1 is poor tbh. I'd imagine just about every other PL club will fill their ground v Liverpool charging top whack category A prices. Drivel.

Heron
A Mackem I work with was saying he was totally confident that S*nderland would stay up with around 35 to 40 points. This was after 17 games and saying if they could get a point out of the next two (ManUre and Burnley (a)) then they'd be alright. They resulted in getting 0. Will be interesting to hear what he has to say tomorrow if Liverpool win. I know teams have better and worse form traditionally in different parts of the season, but unless they strengthen (which I doubt they will) they'll be down if you ask me. If they got 16 from the first 19 I can only see them reaching around 32-34 points.
ponsaelius
There's not a chance the likes of Burnley, Swansea, Palace, Boro etc could get close to 46k. Sunderland get cracking support, as do we, some of the highest in ALL of Europe. The constant attempts to denigrate the one thing they (and we tbh) have in our strength is ridiculous. Palace should beat an abject Swansea tomorrow.

Wartotle and Squirtle have similar strengths though, only Wartotle is better. I guess you could argue.

I'm on it at 110 /1 on betfair. Got odds of 10/1 just for a home win the other day. Ridiculous. As you say it's football and anything can happen, this sort of result is exactly what has kept the Mackems up for the last few year.

The Mackems still have to play Palace and Boro away from home too, don't they? and Hull?

If they were any other team you'd say they're gone but because they've spawned their way to safety so many times in so many odd runs I'm never writing them off until a see lovely big R next to their name.
