Stifler
Surprised the Villa vs Hull game wasn't the opening Friday TV game with both being strong favourites for promotion and the Steve Bruce factor. People commenting on how Sunderland have a tough start, they also look to have a tough finish.

But apart from that they should be ok

Decky
The league just looks tough this year. They seem to have a lot of tough away games in the first half of the season then you look at the 2nd half and they look tricky as well.
Wilson
How are this shower of shit going to cope when the games are coming thick and fast.... This could be fun to witness.
sbnufc
The answer resides amid a catalogue of appalling buys by assorted managers. Damningly, Sunderland sold no player on for a profit between August 2011 and January 2017 and have made money on only five of the last 48 they have traded. As Asoro added: “Sunderland have had a lot of money, it’s just they haven’t used it properly.” Wow Simon Mignolet? Kaboul & McClean too

Their six in April (and maybe even the last game against Wolves if they finally get their shit together) look tough. Not sure I can see them winning close on 30 games, although a lot can change between now and the start of the season. Will be watching their first game with increased interest considering we've just been down there and know the teams/standard a little better now. Kaboul & McClean too Would be surprised if they made a profit on Kaboul, Watford only paid £3.5m for him. Definitely made a small profit on McClean and quite a good profit on Mignolet though

Definitely made a small profit on McClean and quite a good profit on Mignolet though fair enough, I had a look here - http://www.transferleague.co.uk/sunderland/english-football-teams/sunderland-transfers Says they bought him for 3m and sold for 4m. Could be wrong though Got McClean for 350k, sold 2m

1964
:lol:At what point, bearing in mind we are at least 3 weeks into the rumours of their involvement did they decide they were 'too busy' to progress anything? The mackems are even giving them credit for driving the Germans bid and raising the club price  Perhaps they put the takeover in the to do list and now they've had a look have ruled it out. I think they have possibly made a lowball bid and been told no, or they have offered what Short wants for the club but are unprepared to pay the extra he wants to clear the debt. Now they realise they can't get it for next to nothing they have decided to use the PR machine to say it's not in their current interests.
