They do it on purpose. Ignore them.

It's the radio equivalent of clickbait. Adrian Durham is an utter w***** though so it's only to be expected.

adrian durham is a wanker, but to his credit he did side with the fans during the sackpardew days.

They don't really have any opinions. It'll have been that because whoever else was on will have been against sackpardew.

Rafa actually should be credited to be able to build a solid defence line within very limited budget.  We just give Huddersfield one clear chance and get punished.  Other than that we are fine.  Yedlin Clark both come at very cheap cost and Lejuene looks like a gem.  And we still have Dummett Lascelles and Manquillos that all can do a job.  It is fair to say we have the best defence among our relegation rivals, even if our gk is s***.  Rafa deserves huge credit for this.

The other side of the story, however, is that the players aren't good at building up plays in top level.  They are good at counters.  We look a lot more dangerous vs Spurs because that's what we are good at.  We aren't a team that is good at building up plays because we lack good attacking full backs, Hayden aren't technically good enough and most importantly, Gayle is not this type of forward.  However, Rafa is brave / arrogant enough to try to play like a technically superior team, away versus Huddersfield, and that's when the no.10 problem got exposed.  In a way, Rafa should be praised to try to have a go, but it is a failed experiment.  However, to play like a strong team and dominate the game is not his priority.  Solid defence and counter is.  That's why he didn't spend his money on no.10 because at worst we can just go defensive every game from now on and no.10 is useless.

In a way, Rafa is similar to Jose.  Defensive first, attack second.  Full back has to be pacy and not get exposed, and there must be two defensive midfielder to cover the space in the middle.

Eh? He didn't have a go! He sat 10 behind the ball and we hoofed it.

No, he did try to have a go by playing on the deck at first half.  That's why it is a complete failure.  Those aren't hoof, those are clearance under pressure, which is even worse.

Been criticized by Carragher for the leaking of behind the scenes discontent news to press which has removed the buzz about what is usually around a newly promoted club, and that is gone.

It's Ashley that needs to be criticized; Rafa feels that he has to leak stuff to the press to get s*** done. He's leaking it because he's been lied to: by Ashley, and he wants those promises kept.

Carragher should've just replaced 'Rafa' with 'Ashley' and he would've been bang on the money.

Looks like the media have sided with Ashley, I wonder if "Craigy" had out to do with it.

Or Keith Bishop.  Wouldn't surprise me if some people are being paid backhanders to put across Ashley's propaganda.

Thought he was alright tbh despite the made up funny language he speaks as he's called out Ashley before. Can fuck off now, though.

All the morale in the world couldn't make this side competitive. The talent simply isn't there.

Exactly this. It is being overlooked just how bad a side we are. Arguably not one player in the squad good enough at this level, or certainly not proven.

I'd be inclined to agree with Carragher on that one, to be honest. The whole issue is Ashley's doing, obviously, but I've said from day one that I think Rafa has made a mistake in making it public. I think, as Carragher has said, that all it has achieved is a removal of morale, and would have been much better if had been dealt with properly behind the scenes. The mood around the club has been s**** since June to be honest, and Rafa has to take some of the blame for that.

All that being said, we obviously wouldn't be having this conversation at all had Ashley not been a fuckwit and kept his promises.

The last paragraph is all it boils down to, mate. I tried being optimistic before Spurs and the performance gave me enough to make me think we'd go into Huddersfield getting a win but I overestimated this squad. It's just not good enough and is crying out for investment which it won't get. It's so fucking infuriating, man.

Yes, it's Rafa that's to blame for the removal of the buzz. It's nothing at all to do with the lack of spending, the quality of the signings and the quality of the squad. It's the manager describing it to the fans who pay for it, both of whom have been lied to time and time again. Honestly, how people can put the negativity on Rafa is crazy to me.
