Saw him play twice, and he was absolutely awful both times, although decent in the air.

Tbh Rafa at Liverpool made some terrible signings on paper, but always manages to mould a team, particularly within a defensive unit.

He's one of them players that either gives away a penalty, gets sent off or scores an own goal virtually every time I watch him.

Yeah, every time I've seen him play I've noticed just how shit he is. I can't say I've ever seen him go unnoticed.

Who in here as seen him play in a game?

Well anyone who watched the Euros for a start. Plus he's made over 100 games for Villa so its likely a lot of people will have seen at least one game of his. He's not some obscure foreign youngster

Get in, he's going to be a star.

I hope the Irish upload a highlight reel of Clark in these two games the same way they did for McGrath against Italy in 1994. He has been something else. Oh ah, Cieran Clark. Oh ah Cieran Clark!

I've been saying for yearsCiaran Clark is a square peg in a round hole. There is no way he is a central defender and he never was, he has always been a holding midfielder, until the genius O'Neil decided to make him play in the centre of defence, without giving the lad any proper training in the position

Ciaran Clark was a holding/defensive midfielder, that is until O'Neil played him as cover at centre-back. That is why he hasn't got the basics of being a central defender in his armoury, although with decent specialist coaching he could make the transition, if he really wanted to
