York City vs Oldham tomorrow night in the National League set to be York's biggest attendance for about twenty years at ~6500. Big away following of course.  They're doing a canny job of making it home tbh. Was sad to lose Bootham Crescent and you always worry a move to a poxy retail park stadium is gonna kill the spirit but it really hasn't; there's been some really good days there in these early stages.

Blyth lost 2-1 today but were easily the better side and should have won comfortably but for poor finishing and great goalkeeping.

Disgraceful pen 3 minutes from time won it , underserved in my opinion.

Same old Blyth though , need a striker .

Lots of derbies in the former Unibond league.

Premier:

South Shields 1 Morpeth 0

Marske 0 Whitby 0

East:

Dunston 4 Consett 2

North Shields 1 Hebburn 2

Stockton 2 Shildon 1

Good how there's like 9 former Northern League sides making their way up the pyramid. Not sure if Whitby were ever in that league, would be before my time if they ever were, and certainly not as recent as others.

Darlington and Spennymoor as well, although those being there was mainly due to them falling in hard times and the original clubs going bust.

Heaton v Spennymoor if they get through; be a canny day with a big crowd you’d suspect.

And they’re out. Beat 1-2 robbed by a bottling ref. Hit the post in stoppage time. Monsoon and lightning storm in the second half; horrific.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just looked at the table for the first time, great to see three North-East clubs in the top three. Would be good to see more get to say National League North level in the next 5 years.
