That's why I was whinging about people being so disgusted about how we were allegedly playing. Having audio only is pretty bad anyway, but Radio Newcastle is particularly negative. That's not to say they're never right of course.

Get in, would love a good run in this.  The league cup run coincided with our 9 game winning streak so hopefully more of the same.  Plus no poxy warm weather training camp bollocks during 4th round weekend

W3 D1 L2 since the victory at Burton. That's the standard dodgy Christmas period out the way; still top of the league and still in the cup. Hope we follow it up with a signing or two now and push on.

We did that instead of sacking McClaren to give the new manager two weeks to prepare for the next league game

Newcastle : Sels 7, Yedlin 7 (Hayden 75), Hanley 7, Findlay 7, Lazaar 7 – Tiote 7 (Colback 83)– Ritchie 8, Shelvey 8, Barlaser 7, El-Mhanni 6 (Perez 70) – Gouffran 7

Obviously didn't see the game, but from the sounds of things, Tiote was comfortably our worst player, but nah, he gets the same score as pretty much everyone else

Shelvey bossed that, no rustiness at all. Findlay did well but he's got no right foot. El-Mhanni didn't do much but he did try a rabona in our own half and got subbed off soon after. Barlaser was really nervous and didn't play well.  Thought Hanley and lazaar played well although lazaar 's corners were terrible.

Yedlin had a massive ice pack on his ankle at the end
