Spurs finishing with a +60 goal difference :notbad:

Somebody went back and checked. Supposedly we're the only team to do so ever (back to 1888) and not win the league. Presumably not all that many teams have managed +60 full stop.

Apologies but I'm clearly never going to shut up about this . It's apparently the fourth highest ever Premier League GD:

1st - Chelsea 2009/10 +71

2nd - Man City 2013/14 +65

3rd - Man City 2011/12 +64

Man Utd's Highest GD in the PL is +58, Liverpool's is +51 and Arsenal's is +51.

86 points is a tremendous amount. Surely wins more titles than it loses.

However both stats for a second place team does indicate a massive gulf in quality in the league.

90 points hasn't guaranteed La Liga for a long time. However not so long ago Benitez won it easily with barely 80 points.

The fact that the team sitting in 8th has 46 points and a negative goal difference along with everyone below them goes a long way to explain why Spurs have finished with those numbers and not won the league.

"Transistor radios" ffs Motson.

He's not even a commentator at this point, he just reacts to things with 'ohh!'s.

When you look at City's attacking power you wonder how the fuck they haven't come much closer to winning the league. Got to go down as a failure for Guardiola.
