Mikel Merino (now playing for Arsenal)

Seems to have lost his form.

Eh? I thought he was very good tonight, certainly better than his other recent matches. Having a player that has the confidence and ability to trap the ball on his chest makes such a massive difference to us.

Agree! Had a very good first half and managed to keep the ball moving despite Burnley’s efforts to turn it into a Championship match.

Was average at best imo- he's not found the form he had at the start of the season.

Looked a lot more composed on the ball than in previous matches. Sometimes he needs to play it a bit more simple, but Diame sterl the sher.

Is that a Geordie Jeans reference? [emoji38]

Oh my god, I never thought anyone would get that. [emoji38]

He came on at a difficult moment since we had looked completely toothless all second half already. Had a few mixed touches early on and was constantly under pressure when he had the ball.

Thought he did as well as could have been expected at that point.

He looks so relaxed on the ball though. He only needs to get used to that he doesn't always have as much time on the ball that he thinks he has.

Which I think he was getting the hang of before the injuries started to kick in which has set him back a bit on that. But all in all I'm impressed over how well he has managed the pace, despite coming from a different league and not being that experienced yet.
