Guest reefatoon
We can't really go off what the Stoke fans think either. We have all seen the footage on transfer deadline day of them all huddled around, drooling and staring like a bunch of neanderthals ogling up the remains of a mammoth. Yorkie
Doesn't sound like there's any guarantees he'll be much use, but this is the market place we're in. Punts on unwanted players. Hopefully he'll be decent and it's another signing to pacify Rafa.
jimmymag
Must be an upgrade on Mitro and, hopefully, his replacement.

Shak
Honestly have no idea what we're at in terms of the collection of front men we're putting together. Why on earth are we not buying an actual AM to play off Gayle? Can this guy play there? Effectively I mean, not just occupying the spot like Perez does. Rafa won't ever switch to 4-4-2 yet we seem to have absolutely no interest in bringing in someone whose game compliments that of our best striker. It's bizarre. He's a target man, he's basically replacing Murphy in the squad. It's fine and all but we obviously need much more. ( as always)

Ketsbaia
Got a decent feeling about this one. Although I felt the same about Doumbia....
JUICE690
http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/270253/joselu-answer?page=19 Stoke fans seemingly rate him From oatcakefanzine: He was brilliant away at Swansea and Watford. Scored a beast of a header at Bournemouth too. He moves around looking for the ball and making runs. That's what takes him out wide and makes people think he's 'wandering.' He gets himself in the game by moving wide, dropping short and constantly making himself avaliable, completely the opposite of what Berahino does which is why he's so hapless. Gets assists too by moving around, away at Everton, West Brom and home to Norwich too. In our team (unless you're Crouch) then standing around in the middle of the pitch being constantly marked will render you as useless as Berahino. He'll score plenty at Newcastle if he's given a run meanwhile we'll be relegated persisting with our current options.

jimmymag
Must be an upgrade on Mitro and, hopefully, his replacement. It's not, he's replacing Murphy. That's clear as day. In our striking pecking order, he will go above Mitro. That's clear as day!

In our striking pecking order, he will go above Mitro. That's clear as day! Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But Rafa will want someone a little better than Joselu to be their 2nd choice striker. Quite obvious he's replacing Murphy, Target man off the bench who he can rely on.

At West Brom aye, but he was supposed to be Stoke's main striker, considering they paid £15m for him in January.

Can't imagine why they wanted him so much TBH, especially not after the West Brom circus. If you think our striking options are limited, try being Stoke City. He's done far less than Joselu for Stoke yet he's being persisted with and Joselu is out on loan and sold for £5m. Remember when Berahino was going to potentially sign for us for £20m+ and people were excited about it? Glad its gone wrong for that little fucker to be honest. TRon
Must be an upgrade on Mitro and, hopefully, his replacement. It's not, he's replacing Murphy. That's clear as day. We don't need to replace Murphy, we need a genuine Premier class striker. That said, I'm not as meh about this deal as I was, reading Kaka's post and the Stoke fans opinions, might be a case of Rafa taking advantage of Hughes stupidity. Jayson
Happy we're getting one in. Noticed he'd done well in preseason for them, as someone said hopefully a similar story to Gayle. You have to be confident in both Rafa's judgement & in his ability to improve players. We've seen it happening.
