Guest
Would have certainly been better off keeping him than signing Carroll anyway. He would have at least been fit enough to start a few to take Joelinton out of the firing line for a few games.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Joselu was in Wyscouts team of the season based on stats!
Guest reefatoon
How attacking have Alaves been? Maybe that style suits him better than the systems we played when he was here.
toon25
Pleased he’s doing well over there. How much was he, £5 million?
Minhosa
Merino too. What a man Rafa was.
wormy
Bought for £5m. Sold for £2m. And I'd now probably take him over a £40m record signing. Fair play to him.
sh74
Joselu was shite man.
Judge Holden
Joselu was shite man. So why did Stoke get relegated when they sold him m8?

Deuce
Have a La Liga team to follow next season with him & Lejeune. Seems a bit of a tenuous reason to follow them
Guest neesy111
Plucky team Alaves, much worse teams to follow.
KaKa
I think after dealing with the physicality and tempo in the premier league returning to Spain must have been a lot less taxing, which has benefited him.
sh74
yip. la liga and the prem are 2 different animals.
Guest neesy111
Different animals? Absolute bullshit. There's difference's but they aren't as big as people think. Joselu did well last season because he was usually in the right place.
sh74
centre backs 100% better in the prem. Not as good in la liga. simples.
Skeletor
The true hero of the story. Thank you for having your shins in the right place during that Liverpool game that Amanda Staveley came to watch, sweet prince.

Thiago
Joselu is a good example of why it's worth digging a bit when looking at numbers. He has done very well for Alaves. It's the first time in his career he's hit double figures in a top league. It's also the first time he's played well above 30+ games in his career. Sure maybe he's more comfortable in Spain so is thriving, but I wouldn't rule out the simple fact that he's playing regularly and more often. He was an ok striker that did well for us, but also missed some easy chances. I'd give him some grace because that Benitez said did not create much for strikers. It was very much get ready for your one good chance.
Foluwashola
OK is very generous. Potentially the worst striker we've had in my lifetime, and we've had some stinkers. Although it never fails to amaze how some players can revive their careers when leaving our once toxic club.
christ
He was nowhere near the worst we’ve had in recent memory. He was bang average, but he was a damn sight than better than someone like Rivière.
