Today's the day.

.................that nothing happens, Ashley continues his holiday on Nal Hutta and Kenyon keeps ringing Jim Davidson and Paul Chuckle to join his consortium.

How long before we here that the deal can't be done before Feb so we can't spend any money on permanent deals but we will be taken over in May and it wont be a normal takeover it will be a SUPER takeover so long as we don't protest, agree to buy new season tickets and support the team to keep us in the league.

I do think we were close, but the fat man has moved the goalposts, probably the noise about the advertising at SJP. I supposed his wet dream in this is leaving with his pound of flesh but still impacting us financially and visibly for as long as he possibly can. Look what he did to Rangers with a tiny stake in the club.

Steve Howey sticking the boot in on Sky Sports News, good work

What’s he said?

Apparently heard from a relient source that we apparently are close to apparently a takeover apparently before the Man U game. Apparently said he would belive it when he sees it.

APPARENTLY!!!

Nothing new, but basically just sticking the boot in to the lack of investment again.  Stats showed we're either 18th or 19th in all attacking categories this season and he was placing the blame at Ashley's door.

Thanks. Yeah, Howey’s been good on this score recently.

Saw a stat yesterday that our central-midfield and centre-forward cost less combined in our 0-4 on Boxing Day, as what David Batty and Les Ferdinand cost when we lost 4-3 in 1996.

Let's just hope that if Ashley actually does sell us, then our new owners are not just a collection of un-ambitious, pedestrian, not-very-rich people, who will ensure the continuity of our current mediocrity.

I know it will be great to be rid of Ashley . . . but not if we just get "Ashley 2" !!
