r0cafella
Parents going with their kids (and possibly the geet old) are the only ones excused from still going IMO. No qualms with anyone going as long as they understand the fact they are supporting Ashley's continued ownership.
loki679
Parents going with their kids (and possibly the geet old) are the only ones excused from still going IMO. Aye, that's reasonable. It's a bit different if it's taking the bairns for a day out to see the football, especially if it's their first time or some old fella who's been going for 50+ years. Ashley will be gone someday, we have to keep indoctrinating the little ones so that there's still someone left to perpetuate the misery through further generations and teach them about the death of all hope. Tribesman
From the Chronicle. Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley wants to have a sit down meeting with Rafa Benitez at the club's training ground to discuss his needs for the remainder of the transfer window. The pair chatted very briefly after the 3-0 win over Cardiff City at St James' Park on Saturday night but this was merely to say congratulations following the comprehensive performance against the Bluebirds. It is thought that the subject of January recruitment was broached but Benitez has already submitted a list of targets to Lee Charnley to work on. The duo's previous dialogue had been at the club's infamous pizza summit in Ponteland last year. United's top brass want to avoid another circus after the last team get-together resulted in the media turning up outside Rialto's while players tried to eat their meal. Since then Benitez has been at loggerheads with Ashley and managing director Lee Charnley during the January transfer window with the Toon owner refusing to stump up for certain targets - despite the fact there is believed to be around £22million available for new players following sales in the last couple of windows. The Toon boss has been blocked on a number of targets with either age, wage demands or agent fees used as reasons why some targets weren't sanctioned. This has left Benitez doubtful when it comes to recruitment beyond this January with the Spaniard feeling he has been let down in the last four windows. His unhappiness on the transfer front has also resulted in him refusing to begin serious discussions on a new contract, despite United chiefs eager for him to extend his current deal. Both Charnley and Ashley being well aware that a Benitez summer exit would lead to a fan revolt and this has left them in a tricky situation as the ex-Real Madrid boss will be a hard act to follow. Benitez is unlikely to sign his new deal unless there are written assurances on what type of transfer funds will be made available. More optics from Ashley. 4 stars out of 5
Watched MOTD and was almost sick watching the 3 c***s It's incredible isn't it. All he has to do is give him some moderate backing now/in the summer and it would be a solid mid table club raking in the Pl money for years to come and he wouldn't lose Benitez or face any backlash. A bit of spending and he would make it all back and have an easy life yet he would rather go down the hard route. Beyond me what goes through his head

Even minimal spending would secure league status and move the club into top 8-10, enable a cup run, etc but he actively works to fuck things up. I genuinely believe he enjoys rubbing the fans up the wrong way.

Darth Crooks
It’s a business dogma - we all heard or saw his ‘true entrepreneur’ quotes. He believes his business method is the true light and the way and governments also have heralded his practices in part. They’ve retreated from that a little given the worst of it. 4 stars out of 5
From.com "Mike Ashley's appearance at the game was greeted with loud abuse during both halves, with a number of those around him in the Directors Box joining in chants of "stand up if you hate Ashley" Love that

Dokko
Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct is preparing to split with one of its most trusted advisers and draft in a public relations expert as the billionaire expands his presence on the High Street. The adviser will work with his growing retail group, which acquired House of Fraser last summer. Ashley is also wrestling for control of Debenhams. The search has already begun and will leave Keith Bishop, who regularly accompanies Ashley on public engagements, to concentrate on advising the Newcastle United owner on sports and personal matters As part of the changes, Sports Direct has shed its controlling stake in PR firm Keith Bishop Associates, which it held via a subsidiary. Bishop was described by an insider as a ‘dear friend’ of Ashley. The pair attended Newcastle United’s match at Chelsea last week and were due to go to the home match against Cardiff yesterday. Sean
£22m available Should add another 100m or so to make it accurate. This was my first thought, more lies put into the public domain by Ashley's sources, fucking piss take. I have a feeling him and his cronies are already making plans to try to placate supporters for the summer already...judging by his past actions and the reactions it isn't going to be too hard for them to achieve sadly. Everything he's done since makes perfect sense when you realise it's pure hatred that drives every decision to do with this football club.
