One thing I will say is he’s quite good technically for a big man. Not the quickest obviously, but quite strong. He’s definitely better than LdJ, but that’s not really saying much.

Better than Luuk De Jong  it’s a start I suppose

Newcastle United are locked in talks to sign Feyenoord star Nicolai Jorgensen.

The 27-year-old Danish international is wanted by Rafa Benitez to sharpen up his frontline and a valuation of £20million has been placed on the shoulders of the 10-goal striker.

One valuation by United is already believed to have been rejected by Feyenoord and deemed too low.

However, United aren’t walking away from the deal yet.

It is believed that Mike Ashley has approved the approach for the ex-Copenhagen player with managing director Lee Charnley the man tasked with getting the deal done.

The Feyenoord number nine’s arrival would lift the United fans a little after the disappointment of a recent takeover breakdown between the Magpies and Amanda Staveley and PCP Capital Partners.

Both Ashley and Benitez know that the club’s valuation will plummet if United get relegated and the team needs a big boost at the moment.

Joselu is the club’s top scorer with just four Premier League goals and the team requires back-up.

The 27-year-old has previously been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers but was spotted on a scouting trip to Holland by chief talent spotter Steve Nickson.

The striker was the top scorer in Holland last season with 21 goals and has eight strikes for Denmark.
