Shows how small time they are and who is the irrelevant side in this "rivalry". We had a laugh at them and mainly forgot about them as we try to oust our owner even after finishing 10th which would be the mackems idea of heaven.

If it was us in league one and them in the pl they would be non stop and it would be the highlight of there lives

I've heard he's willing to take a much bigger stake if and when they get back to the champo.  Easy money for Donald and that other nob, they 'buy' the club debt free using the parachute payment, do enough to get them up and then sell a year later for two or three times the original purchase price (which they didn't pay themselves anyway).

If that's the case why is he not putting in to ensure they do get to the Championship - pure bullshit by the two chancers to try and get the fans onboard. This lot are fucked for years and years that's for sure. They are using the parachute payments to pay what they owe Short and the still can't get rid of their big wage earners.

Oh dear, the Don is already preparing them for doom and gloom over the next few transfer windows...

When we came in, we basically did a budget that said we’d have £10m in wages and we’d probably have to spend £4m tidying up contracts, the Jack Rodwells, etc. The reality is that we actually spent zero tidying up contracts but that money is worse than that because we haven’t been able to get rid of Ndong, Djilobodji and a couple of others. So we are way, way over that. That’s bad news.

We’ll see where we go with Papy and Ndong but the rest of the squad with the players that we’ve got, I think we’ve got the wage bill down from £20m odd, excluding those two, the existing squad is down to £11m. We’ve managed to halve it and the new squad has cost about £3m to put together.

That tells you the challenge that we have because in this league £3m-4m is a decent wage and a £5m-6m budget and you’re at the top. We’ve spent that on players, the £3m-4m, but we’ve still got £11m in the existing squad, although we don’t have £11m worth of value probably.

With League One revenues, even with 30,000 fans, that’s not sustainable. We’ve had one window, so over the next couple of windows we are going to have to try and improve that but the problem is that it has left us with almost no wiggle room.

Looks like hes bitten off more than he can chew. The guy is a complete charlatan

Didn't see that coming did we? [emoji38]

So if they don’t get promoted they’re fucked.

Paid 2.7m out this morning in installments for Ndong

I read some Sunderland fans blaming this current money-strapped predicament on these two 'mercenary' players yesterday (Djilobodji & Ndong)  Blood sucking leeches apparently.

Of course it's nothing to do with the club officials who agreed the transfers & contracts for them both, which the Sunderland fans were subsequently very happy about. Nah, players' fault for signing the contracts.

The Don is just a small time attention seeking whore. The guy is just an absolute chancer and charlatan,. this will all come crashing down like a pack of cards for these fuckers. They are a 3rd division club and are paying 3 to 4 players over 50k a week they cannot sustain this at all and all this talk of sacking Papy and Ndong will blow right up in their faces. They either have to  pay them off ala Rodwell which they obviously cant afford ( Hence the reason Cattermole is still there) or they are stuck with them

Not being funny but there's more than a whiff of "we didn't do our due diligence" about all this backtracking. Where have we heard that before?

"So how much is it for sale for?"

"How much you got?"

"Well if i sell up i can get you £8m..."

"Sold"

Sunderland AFC has given notice under its contract with Papy Djilobodji. Djilobodji, who was under contract to SAFC until June 2020, indicated in June 2018 that he wished to leave the club.

In order to facilitate that desire, the club entered into a written agreement with the player allowing him to spend the month of July on voluntary unpaid leave.

When that period came to an end, the player was expected either to leave for a new club – having reached a deal satisfactory to himself and SAFC - or to return in shape to play professional football. Instead, he returned to Sunderland over a month later, in the first week of September, ignoring written requests for his return. On his return, he was subjected to the same fitness test that his fellow professionals had undertaken on their return. He comprehensively failed that test.

As a result, Sunderland AFC can confirm that it has accepted Papy Djilobodji’s repudiatory breaches of contract and notice of the same has been provided to the player.

They gon get sued

Hope they're actually in the right in this case. The pendulum of power has swung too far towards players.

I was going to say, that's actuality quite commendable of them. He's clearly taking the piss out of them and he's far from the only one, got no objection at all to them just binning the twat if he's deserved it.

From what I can gather he's only turned up overweight and late though, not sure if that's grounds enough to cancel his contract? Drugs or drink driving then fair enough but only being unprofessional? Not sure. Not that bothered in all honesty, it's their problem.
