PauloGeordio
Maybe it’s all smoke and mirrors, the lot of it. Helps with us not getting fleeced on incomings
Super Duper Branko Strupar
What would letting our first choice RW leave in January acheive? We're not going to be able to replace him with anyone ready to come striaght in you'd doubt. Aye we have Murphy comeing back and Barnes too and Gordon can play RW, but we'd be weakening a position we're not strong in. Makes much more sense to be doing all of this at the end of the season. I know we need bodies in, but we'd need even more by letting people go. Just seems all a bit far fetched to me. 2 hours ago, Shays Given Tim Flowers said: unless he ya know likes his life and doesn’t want to live in Saudi. LFEE
It was either a Tweet or if I recall a very short post on here a few days ago saying we are hawking Almiron around every Saudi agent. Probably the most succinct take of what is going on here. Bit of problem that Atlanta have a 20-25% sell on fee for those expecting a windfall. frankpingel
Surely it'll be as a % of any profit we make on his sale? So probably £1m or so, if anything.

TheBrownBottle
Doesn’t matter at all if Atlanta has a sell-on clause or a % of the sale. The fee is what counts for FFP. I doubt the owners are arsed about paying Atlanta

We’d only be able to show 75 as our income from the sale and Atlanta will take the other 25 we May take the full 100 in cash but we’d have to sent the 25 straight out

If we have to pay, say £4m to Atlanta because they're owed it as part of a clause, does that not go down the same as a £4m signing for instance? From an accounting perspective the fee we have to pay to Atlanta would have to come as a cost/reduced income this year i would think.
Matt1892
As someone else has said, any sell on clause will be on the profit we make on him which isn’t going to be much.

That is how sell on clauses usually work, the Athletic article they take it from say it will be on any profits.

It would be zero sum, as there would be £4m incoming then £4m outgoing, so it would be cost neutral for any sell-on clause. Almiron’s original fee is amortised fully, so anything we’re not paying Atlanta goes straight into the income column. Selling Almiron would likely help fund a big signing in this window - if they want to do that.

Saudi been over talking to a number of clubs, discussed players with NUFC, interest from number of clubs in Miggy, nothing agreed but someone (BEIN Jacobs) jumped ahead. Player unaware. So nothing really more than us as a fan base have stitched together.
