Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

He’s always been better than Murphy. Murphy can cross a ball and has pace but Miggy is way better at defending, way better at pressing, significantly better at carrying the ball. Miggy is very frustrating because he can’t cross the ball and is desperate to be on his left foot but he’s far more use to us when we’re pressing teams well than Murphy

He did play well overall. However, Gordon put it on a plate for him but he just could not use the right foot to tap it in

Genuinely can’t remember this??

EDIT: you’re on about the Wimbledon game. [emoji38]

Miggy played well again today. Good ball to Gordon but AG very wasteful the entire game. I think we should consider starting Miggy again. He has good chemistry with Trips and Bruno and obviously very good work rate. I just wish he got a serviceable right foot.

Even with his limitations I’d start him ahead of Murphy.

In hindsight, a game like yesterday was probably more suited to Miggy’s skillset. Against teams like say Spurs or City, where we won’t have as much of the ball and there is space to attack. Then I think you go with Murphy.

A bit depressing typing that out, TBH. Why are these still our main options at RW after all this time?!

Forgot he started today, don't think I can remember a single noteworthy contribution.

He shot wide and then the commentary said he hadn't scored since last year I think 🤔 other than that it's like neither our RW are good enough or something.....

I remember early on seeing  him chasing between Chelsea players frantically without getting anywhere near them and thinkiing he looks like he knows he doesn't belong here. Then I never noticed him again. I think he just basically stayed away from the ball and scuttled busily around the pitch in other areas.

There were time today when we were very uncoordinated with our press/awareness of teammates pressing which could have been costly. Miggy did it once or twice in combination with Isak and similarly Bruno and Isak.

Because both went instead of simply instructing Isak to go, it left pockets in their respective positions and then they countered into said pockets.

I felt felt Isak, our midfield and two wide men were fairly ineffective defensively today to be honest. Of everyone Joelinton probably snatched the most interceptions from what I recall.

Thought Joelinton was our best player today tbh.
