Froggy
I love Messi but that was a poor performance from him, even for his assist he miscontrolled it and should’ve been straight in on goal . The worrying thing for Man Utd is that they still lost and it’s highly unlikely he (and Barca) will perform anywhere near that badly at the Nou Camp. I thought Man Utd played well for about 60-70 minutes but they just didn’t look like scoring at all towards the end of the game. I couldn’t work out whether that was because they ran out of steam, Barca snuffed them out, or because Solskjaer’s substitutions were completely inneffective. Probably a bit of all 3 is the most likely answer. It’s still an interesting tie, as i think Barca look like they could push the self-destruct button at any moment and Man Utd have obvious quality to punish them. You’d expect Barca to get the job done comfortably though. Ashley Young.
Guest firetotheworks
I love the way this has all been framed like. McManaman was doing it yesterday as well, as if a comfy 1-0 home loss when Messi wasn't on it is an achievement for a team like Man United. Just the Nou Camp next, then. Disco
It was vintage Yoonited and it will be very tough for Barca to recover in the second leg.

Village Idiot
Costa given a 8 game ban. That seems rather excessive... I recall similar offenses (insulting the refs) getting half that. Although in most cases the player had later apologized, which Costa IIRC hasn't.
AyeDubbleYoo
He brings the game into disrepute pretty much just by existing.
Village Idiot
Aha, it's a double ban. 4 for the insults (which fits precedent, as I said), and another 4 for manhandling the ref afterwards.

Wasn’t watching him last night but McManaman is the biggest PFM going. If a team holds possession for more than 20 seconds he goes off on one about how they aren’t creating anything, while saying nothing about the other team

Infinitely Content
Messi awful McTominay pen Can’t wait for the second leg like. Barcelona cruised through that last night. Shows how far Man United have fallen for no shots on target at Old Trafford and a 0-1 defeat to be considered positive.
LFEE
Much better performance than I expected last night. We were the best side for the majority of the game. Ashley Young is dreadful and cost us 4-5 really good opportunities with a terrible final ball Going by the rules, it was a penalty in the McTominay challenge, but the way he threw himself to the ground did him no favours. Busquets shouldn't have been on the pitch by the time he was taken off. Messi was awful. Got the early assist but was pressed hard and completely marked out of the game. Fred and McTominay were excellent in midfield. We needed to get a goal when we were so dominant. No idea what Dalot was thinking with that header either. Another miracle required to progress but I have more hope than I did against PSG. It was never a penalty

Fully expect him to tear shit up in the second leg but he was bad last night. The result wasn't positive. The performance was.

Froggy
That awful that he set up the goal So playing one decent pass for the entire game takes your performance from awful to good or something? I've seen people on criticise Pogba in games he's assisted or scored in. It doesn't mean you've had a good game. Messi was dirt. Completely marked out of the game. All of his passes were near the halfway line. We started slow and after about 15 mins Messi was nonexistent. Their best player was Semedo.

Just needed the rub of the green I suppose, like an O.G. Also would help if Young didn't waste 5 good opportunities. Give us Semedo please

Disco
If Ash Young © had done 5 crossed they'd have won 6-1 that's how well they played. It was mesmerising. The Barca defence kept saying no but that didn't matter, they just smashed them anyway, reminded me of heroic father Cris Ronaldo in a Las Vegas hotel room.
