Mike Ashley (former owner) (still alive)

Wonder why they didn't mention all the shit today when they made the original statement 2 days ago.

They weren't aware what Shitehawks the Journo's who dictate the atmosphere around NUFC are?

You really have to question the motive behind all these press releases. For me they mean that they arent very close at all. If they were what would be the point?

Because of the absolute s*** from journalists and wannabe twitter ITKs over the last 72 hours they feel they have to come out as their reputation has been questioned. Look they have stated Ashley has agreed and signed off the takeover and it's in the hands of the league. If it's s*** Ashley will be coming out with his own statement very soon

Think they have been forced to put out this extra statement today because of the flak the local journos have given them since their last statement. Deal would have been completed or something major would have happened on Friday had the journos not put doubts out too much about them.

NUFC won't comment no matter what, so I don't see that as a problem. Nobody actually in the club will know anything.

You're right but I would imagine Ashley will if it's shit as he did with Slaveley. They are using his name and stating legal documents have been signed.

Looking forward to this dragging on for literally the whole summer and Joselu starting our first game under Mark Hughes

Can't believe they overlooked Sherwood. Sickening.

I know they claim that MA has signed paperwork, and hopefully that is true... but other than that, this seems to be going all 'Staveley' again.

One side appears to be doing all the running and noise making, until Fatboy gets 'frustrated' and pulls the plug with 'Timewasters'. Remember, Staveley showed Caulkin the bids she'd submitted, but MA/the club claimed no bids were made.

Lets hope this latest statement prompts some sort of official response from MA's side, so we can either get on the bandwagon, or hoy wa'sells in the Tyne.

I think silence from Ashley is better right now TBH. He can make a heartfelt statement saying how much he's done for the club, after he's fucked off.

Forced how? What would have happened if they didnt release any more comments before the sale was finalised? If there is a sale to be done that is.

Smells fishy to me.

Fit and proper test:

The Premier League has tighter restrictions than the Football League or National League. In general, a businessman will fail the test if:

They have power or influence over another Football League club

They hold a significant interest in another Football League club

They become prohibited by law from being a director

They are filing for bankruptcy

They have been director of a club while it has suffered two or more unconnected events of insolvency

They have been a director of two or more clubs of which, while they have been director, has suffered an event of insolvency

No chance he fails this.
