Im sorry like but Ashley doesn't pick the team in cups, if we get knocked out in the first round it's got f*** all to do with Ashley and if we get to a final then it's got f*** all the do with Ashley either.

From Fans Forum minutes, 23rd September 2013

Phil Patterson – “Realistically, the cups are about the only chance of silverware, but year in year out we don’t seem to target one, why not?

The board said that we utilise the cup competitions to secure match experience for the wider squad. The club is also mindful of injuries following last season’s Europa League. Our primary aim and focus has to be the Premier League and we don’t want to jeopardise that.

Chris Forster – “A cup would be success for fans.”

The board said the financial rewards of being a PL club are so great that we have to make sure that we do everything we can to stay in that position. Examples of three recent cup winners who are now no longer in the PL were given. The board added that the extra 14 games we played in the Europa League and the injuries sustained had contributed to a lower league finish.

Yep, nowt to do with Ashley, that.  :idiot2:

And since that, Ashley has come out in an interview and said that the aim is to win a trophy... And he won't leave until he does

And you believe that to be true when he's just decided that he would prefer Steve Bruce to be the manager instead of a guy with more major honours than almost anyone else on the continent?

I think your dependent might be telling little porkie pies.

Thats not really the case though is it?

He wanted to keep Rafa, but he didn't have the same vision that Rafa did for the club so he didn't stay and I don't blame him for that.

Aye, the vision from Benitez was to be better! That's the point!

Christ.

Exactly, one wants the club to improve and build, the other wants to finish 4th-bottom as cheaply as possible. I don't see how any fan can go along with that, no matter how much of a routine you have going to the match.

There are some right spineless, selfish, bricks in the wall out there. Match going fans like Seymour are worse cancers than Ashley. Set of cunts the lot of them!

We all want Newcastle United to be better.

You just have the opinion that if we boycott, have an empty ground that will get rid off him.

My opinion, is that he'll sell when he wants regardless of how many are in the ground or not.

He'll be on a beach or something man, propably getting pissed in casinos with wankers like Wise, as if he'll be even looking at the attendance figures

OK, put aside the 'get him to leave' argument then. What are we supposed to be supporting? The shell of NUFC is surface level only, inside it's possessed by Mike Ashley. All the things that clubs are supposed to represent, it no longer represents. It's actively against most of them.

Calling me a cancer

If 45k+ are cancers to the club then why not go to the ground and tell them all that then?

Why not do something about it to get rid off these 45k+ cancers?

If I felt as strongly as you and I thought boycotting would get rid of him, then I certainly would.

Why not do something about the fans going to the ground?

But the point you're missing is the fact that Seymour has already accepted that, because he wants to support the team, not the regime. He's happy to try to survive in the league. If we don't, he's happy to try and get promoted. If we don't, he's happy to try and avoid relegation. If we don't, he's happy to watch us against Lincoln and Bradford every week.

It's not about success for him, it's about being able to cheer Jack Colback and make sure he plays well.

The players on the pitch deserve our support, the likes of Ritchie and Lascelles have run through brick walls for us in recent seasons.

We've also got a brand new manager who's walked into a complete mess who deserves our supoort

Fucking hell man, why isn't it sinking in? PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO ACTIVELY TELL FANS WHO GO TO GAMES THAT BOYCOTTING (EVEN ONE GAME) MIGHT JUST MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR A START.

Don't pretend that everyone on here is hiding behind a keyboard just trying to get at you. Plenty of people on here are actively involved in many different ways trying to get Ashley out of the club.

He's delighted that you bit on that. That must be the aim, create a persona to represent the idea of the match goer. Sow the seeds of doubt amongst a growing belief.

Notice there are no other match-goers, sticking up for him. Don't lose faith.

Putting aside the individual player/manager arguments, which we've been through loads of times, it just seems perverse to me that supporting players is bigger than what's happening to the club. I like Matt Richie and a lot of our players, they're good lads. But I'm not a Matt Richie fan, I'm a Newcastle supporter, and surely I can't allow Mike Ashley to take me for a an absolute mug because I like a few individual footballers.

But you're right, I have accepted this is the position that we are currently at.

Nah

You can be a season ticket holder, support the team and not the owner and still be pissed off cos Gayle has sliced one man

Bruce is never going to be accepted even if he wins the first 10 in a row

He's not wanted here ffs

If CUNT sold the club tomorrow, to ambitious owners with no ties, I'd sing my heart out for the lads, Bruce included, until a replacement was found.

"Steve Bruce's temporary army"

Maybe but if attendance figures don't matter, then why did Sky Sports move their cameras to a completely different stand at the Riverside stadium to show the fuller stand on TV? Have empty sections in each stand & of course it will make a difference to the PL/Sky brand for 1.

surely you can see that a sub-40k crowd live on sky would turn the focus to his running of the club?

That I agree with yes, it would. An empty stadium would put major pressure from the media towards Ashley.

But Ashley is not the type of guy that likes been told what to do, you can put as much pressure on him as you like. But the bottom line is he sells the club when HE wants

As I said before you changed the point, the owner doesn't, which is why he let Benitez go in favour of Bruce.

He literally went out to get a new manager BECAUSE THE NEW ONE WAS WORSE. He had a good one but actively wanted a worse one. The good one wanted a good team but the owner explicitly wants a mediocre team at best. I don't know how much simpler it needs to be spelled out.
