Guest neesy111
It was reported he was not on much money in his original contract.

Ikon
I'd not sign it unless the takeover happens. What does he care. He should secure his future. As if he couldn't secure it elsewhere For even better money.. Without wasting his time here.
KaKa
So he should turn down more money and wait until when to move elsewhere? Can he not still move elsewhere on the same timescale whilst getting more money from this new contract. You're not making any sense whatsoever. Guest
Guessing he came in on around £40-50k a week, this will likely take him to £80k-ish.
Infinitely Content
Guessing he came in on around £40-50k a week, this will likely take him to £80k-ish. Came in on far less than that apparently. Under £30k if reports were to be believed. M.Longstaff was asking for a salary that would have seen him earn more than ASM.

Sean
I'd not sign it unless the takeover happens. What does he care. He should secure his future. Just no. With no takeover he should be looking for a way out.

With no takeover he should be looking for a way out. Same length of contract though, so how? Ask to leave? Refuse to play? It'll be cheaper for someone else to buy him on his current contract you would think. Plus I'm under the impression it's also an extra year.

With no takeover he should be looking for a way out. If there's no takeover he'll find a way to leave regardless. It's a good deal for everyone tbh. We get to secure him for the long term, and he gets a big pay rise, which he's worth anyway.

Also bear in mind players like him must still have in the back of their mind we are in the middle of a takeover tussle. This could be a great place to be in a couple of years time, well worth taking a pay raise if you look at it that way.

He'd have loved it a lot more before Ashleys time though. Lets hope he sees what the club can be after Ashleys time also - Im just not of the opinion that he will sadly. With no takeover he should be looking for a way out. this makes no sense. He can still sign a new contract and double his salary, and still look to move should he wish even next window if clubs want him. In a year he's gone from being considered a malcontent in France to being seen as a good performer in the premier league, and teams are still going to want him regardless of whether he increases his wage now or not. He absolutely should get more money for himself if offered.
