Newcastle Fan
having him getting back to sharpness and in the squad is a plus, considering the formation we play so much of it depends on the midfield three and we need any player who plays there to play at a full 100% for the formation to work. David Edgar Posted Wednesday at 21:28 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:28 On 16/02/2025 at 08:53, David Edgar said: He's got the physical and technical attributes to be a top player, but he has seemingly always struggled with the mental side of the game - for us, I have no idea what he was like at Arsenal. If only we could just take Longstaff's ability to deliver his consistent 7/10 performance every week and marry it up with Willock's footballing ability... Instead we have Willock who ranges from 4/10 to 9/10 with an average of 5s and 6s. It is a real shame cos Willock could be a hell of a player. There are loads of factors which could be at fault for him being unable to deliver consistently high standard performances and it might take him moving to try to find a club that is right for him to realise his potential. He might get lucky and land on a club that is perfect for him. Then we'll all wet the bed ignorantly. Coughs loudly.

KaKa Posted yesterday at 16:55 Share Posted yesterday at 16:55 I'm over it. Not strong enough physically and is always seemingly off balance, leading to some impossibly clumsy play.
AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 16:56 Share Posted yesterday at 16:56 He needs to be moved out IMO, doesn’t have a role and likely never will. He’s English and a decent age so might get some money in.

Lush Vlad Posted yesterday at 17:01 Share Posted yesterday at 17:01 Been one of his biggest fans on here. But it’s getting hard to watch him. Seems to be scared of making a mistake or getting injured or something. Constantly looks like he is playing within himself. Without his athleticism and dynamism on and off the ball. He’s just another one of our players with a poor touch and pass appreciation.
Kid Icarus Posted yesterday at 17:02 Share Posted yesterday at 17:02 One of the last players I'd be singling out after that, just as he was the last time.

El Prontonise Posted yesterday at 18:35 Share Posted yesterday at 18:35 That time he kicked it out with a clear pitch in front of him. He tries but so many occasions when he's so weak.

Lotus Posted yesterday at 18:37 Share Posted yesterday at 18:37 I’m a fan of his but the only thing he did of note was miss a very easy chance to win the match.
Fak Posted yesterday at 18:47 Share Posted yesterday at 18:47 I don’t think his performance was as doom and gloom as some have made out. He still showed some fleeting moments of the Willock of old by knocking it past his marker and doing him for pace. He looks totally shot of confidence mind when it came to his final ball. I still think there’s something left in the tank but someone we should be moving on if a decent offer comes in.

Yeah he wasn't dreadful but so many times there's no decisiveness in his decision making.

His best for us was when we were relegation threatened. He could take risks because chances were, we were losing the match in anyway. Now we are fighting at the other end of the table and in cups. Losing the game has more jeopardy on the line. I don’t think he can handle the pressure.
