Stifler
Just been speaking to a Villa fan on another forum. He seems to think that 1 more point for them will see them safe. I asked if he meant 38 points and their superior goal difference would be what he means and he seems to think that Wigan will only get a maximum of 37 points. Anyway on top of that he appears to have been watching a lot of QPR and seems to think that despite them being relegated they will not play because they are not under pressure and that we should still stroll to a win. He has the final table as us and Villa on 40 points, Norwich on 39, and Wigan down on 37.

arnonel
The situation we are in now is desperate, but......... Really feel like we need to start channelling some positive energy. Think Win.

Guest icemanblue
I wish I could get my head around how safe objective fans think we are. My office is made up of Boro, Darlo and mackem fans. Not one of them thinks we'll go down. Every one of them think Wigan are already doomed.

brummie
Re-assurance from a Villa fan, my favourite. Here is some more for you, then. It has been horrific for you of late, and the GD situation changing like that over the last three days must be gutting to take, but you've got 37 points on the board, and one of your remaining games is against an already relegated club, whose players haven't looked like they give too much of a shit all season. I know it looks grim this morning, and I know it's annoying when someone who hasn't watched all of your recent games weighs in, but if anyone needs to be worried today, it isn't Newcastle, it is Wigan. As I keep saying, they've five games in fifteen days, they've an energy sapping FA Cup final in the middle of it (thought Gary Neville was spot on when he mentioned the effect of that last night), and have some tricky league games to play. Stifler
Put it simply, a win for us against West Ham and it is possible for us to be mathematically safe by the time we play QPR.

A win at West Ham and there's no way whatsoever you'll be going down.

Skeletor
The margins are crazy. A loss at West Ham and a Wigan win and we're fucked. A win at West Ham and a Wigan loss and we're safe. Wins for both of us and we're probably still safe but not necessarily so.

The only definite was coming from you, we were definitely staying up.
Dokko
The ironic thing about this is right now I'm feeling more confident of staying up than I have in a couple of weeks. Don't know if its because we've past a certain point now or not, but I'm thinking of good things for wham or qpr.
arnonel
We need to ensure safety BEFORE the last game, and assume we will get nothing from Arsenal game.

Then though he chose to disagree with what I was saying.
