BergenMagpie
American owners are an abomination to the sport. Project big picture, super league, liverpool trying to trademark "allez allez allez" etc. They can all fuck off
Geordie_once_removed
American owners trying to fundamentally destroy the football pyramid and state owners buying clubs as part of wider geopolitical goals are both clearly bad for football as we know it. We get more flack than others, and as a fan group we're often placed in an impossible position where we are told we have to stop doing something that has run in our families for generations and if we don't and we actually enjoy a 'product' that is immeasurably better than anything we've seen in 20 plus there is blood on our hands. But let's not pretend that none of the criticism of the owners is valid.

Let’s start with smashing the “teeth grinder’s” lot today.

So does the EC have any jurisdiction in the UK and not all UEFA members are EU members. There's still rules against levels of state aid with the trade agreement we have with the EU. Keegans Export
The only accusations that could stick would be something like the Sela money actually coming from PIF/KSA directly rather than Sela itself. I think that was/is one of the things they're trying to get Man City on?

Maineblue
Take it with a pinch of salt, Nick Harris wrote this pile of shite so that says it all really. The new rules may or may not apply to the PL. Theyve been in force since June and the article can’t confirm if any state funds come from the UAE. As for the commission investigation, the commission was asked by Harris and they gave a generic reply that they look into all situations where state aid may inflate markets. But the article boldly states however the commission may open an investigation. It’s just a shite article from Sportingcel and surprise surprise the Daily fucking Mail. Nucasol
The club are playing by the rules, rigorously so. They know the Sinister Six are waiting to fuck them over along with fringe teams like Palace, West Ham and Brighton so have to be doubly careful. La Liga president Javier Tebas has long been a critic of what he calls ‘state-funded clubs’ including City. La Liga declined to comment, although they confirmed recently they had made a formal complaint to the EC about state aid unfairly helping Paris Saint-Germain, who are in effect owned and funded by the government of Qatar." Well PSG owns the ECA, so any complaint against them is useless. They were the big winners of the Superleague fiasco.

How much ‘state funding’ have we actually received? There will be a current investment figure. I bet it’s still in the tens of millions. Rather less than when Real Madrid sold its training ground to the Spanish govt to pay for a nine-figure debt.
