Ashley didn't So they are responsible for the good but not the bad? Abramovic was responsible for Chelsea. The good and the bad. The ruthless culture - that’s on him. The continued success that’s on him. Instant gratification, that’s him. But his approach actually made sense. I don’t know if PIF want European football every year from now. And will be ruthless in that regard eventually but also aggressively ensure we close the financial gap to the top 6. Or they want a ‘organic’ build based on developing younger players and some fluctuation in league finish. From the outside we look stuck between two stalls. TBG
So he cares now? I'm assuming he no longer cares if he doesn't attend the following home game, but will care if he attends the following, following home game.

The PIF team is actually actively involved in the signings made for the Saudi League and they seem to be doing a far better job than our lot Offering salaries an order of magnitude higher than the player would normally be worth does help in getting players signed, mind
Dr Jinx
There’s frustration and doubt setting in, at least with the supporters and the media who are feeding it. Best thing PIF could do right now is just give some reassurance that the ambitions haven’t changed and that there’s a plan to get there. Currently it’s starting to seem like we’re just existing again.. at a larger capacity to Mike Ashley’s NUFC but still, like we’re waiting for something to change. And while it doesn’t, those top 4 ambitions have slipped back now to top 6/7.

If we sign Tosin and Olise as planned. We are all thinking Europa League as a minimum. But the tightness of the budget means everything has to go perfectly all the time. That’s not reasonable to expect. Edited September 1 by The College Dropout

My take on it is that the PSR debacle was blamed on herself and Mehrdad. Possibly too many legal cases around money involved with her too. the quotes when she left seemed all very amicable but it does appear she was blindsided. RS
Losing the Staveley PR machine is a big loss to the connect between club and fans. Howe’s early pressers about worries around Mitchell/Eales haven’t helped anyone. (Perhaps he’s shouldn’t have washed his dirty laundry in public?) The rumours around Trippier shagging round and the Vermont hotel shenanigans, tying in with wishy-washy on field performances. What looks like a completely amateur transfer window where Crystal Palace have made us a laughing stock while we kept on offering instead of killing the deal A seemingly large error in PSR book balancing leading to the sale of a potential wonder kid. All understandably point to why confidence in the ownership model has been dented. Edited September 1 by RS
Jackie Broon
Al-Rumayyan being there today is reassuring to me, it indicates that they are still interested in us as a project and understand the need to show that now.

The College Dropout
1 minute ago, The Prophet said: That's not what I said like. I said PIF are ultimately responsible for the club. Everything good, everything bad. That’s true of all owners of football clubs. Why are PIF exempt? This idea that they just sign cheques and leave it to others is naive of how top level business is done.
