I guess a manager can come from an over performing team, It's subjective point of view.  Imo, the Premier League Manager of the year is Slot, the points difference in his first season, and not really adding to Liverpool squad made it him for me.

Overall manager of the year across all competitions is most definitely Eddie Howe.  A trophy, league finish to be determined but looking good for 2nd to 4th.  After being prevented from buying any proper first team players for nearly two season, because of cheating rules.  It couldn't be no other than Eddie.

I'd hope Eddie gets the LMA award. Has to, Shirley?

I'd say Slot's favourite given them running away with the league in his first season in charge.

Who else has exceeded their club's expectations the most? Gotta be Nuno. Forest were probably hoping to avoid a relegation scrap and they're still challenging for top 5.

That said, last 2 games - if we win both and finish second & Forest lose both & finish 7th you could make a good case for Howe over Nuno.

If we lose both and Forest win both and come above us it would seem mad to pick Howe over Nuno.

I think Slot deserves it more than Salah deserves player of the year.

Yeah I dont really rate Liverpools squad that highly, and I think Salah himself is also a little overrated. Probably deserves player of the season, but I dont think its as obvious as many do.

Non-penalty goals+assist is very good, but not that insane.

Keep in mind that the point difference from Liverpool to us is the same as from us to Crystal Palace.

I do think not having a serious team challenging them for the title has helped Liverpool massively, mind. It's obviously a great achievement in his first season, but Arsenal and City have been nowhere near.

And if we finish 2nd, then the runners up ended up never being in a title challenge all season.

Eddie for me..won a trophy and 2nd place up for grabs. Nuno done very well but just faltered at the last hurdle. Eddie 1st, Nuno 2nd, Slot 3rd

The trophy win doesn’t come into it - it’s PL only

The LMA Manager of the Year does include all the cups

Salah's form this season pretty much won them the league - bar the last few weeks it was his best ever season.  His goals / assists were the difference.  I am of course not saying Slot did a bad job but it helps massively when you have arguably one of the best players in the world in the form of his life.

1 G+A(non-penalties) per game is fantastic no doubt, but i also do feel like without them he doesnt provide that much. Still, I would give the player of the season to him most likely.

Slot on the other hand wins the Premier League with +-15 points in his first season without buying anything noteworthy. To me there is no question who deserves manager of the year when we are only looking at the Premier League.

If we had Salah we'd have won the league

Taking away one of if not the best player in the Premier league from the ones who won and give in to the 3rd placed team kinda does that yeah.

Would you still say we would have won if we swapped him with Isak or Tonali btw?

Newcastle have lost to many games to mid level teams for my liking. We should have sewn up CL football before now. Bonus points for the cup win but making us wait until the last day of the season to see what European competition we end up in makes him a no for me.

What an incredibly strange take. We are ahead of Chelsea and Man City who have spent billions and only a point behind Arsenal who have spent a fortune as well despite us not buying a first team player for about two years. Every team has bad results during the season. To say we should have sewn up CL by now is wild . We are massively overachieving if anything .

They’ll give it Slot so Sky Sports can have an orgy about Liverpool and their achievements.

On merit, you can’t look past Nuno or Eddie.

Forest are 7th, one place ahead of Brentford, having spent £360m since 2022. In what universe is Nuno a stronger contender than Slot?

would never want to deny eddie his due but it's hard to look past the phenomenal shifts Ange and Amorim have put in. Top quality work by them.

Given the state of Manchester City and Arsenal this season, Arne Slot should feel little pride and receive scant reward for winning Liverpool the Premier League title. He should be punished if anything, for not using this relatively tranquil period to better himself in other aspects of life. Just a couple of months ago Liverpool were being touted for an unprecedented quadruple, yet they'll walk away from this season with just one solitary medallion. That has to count for something, so I'd give the award to Howe or Nuno 'of the spirits'.

This is kind of thing people would take the piss out of the mackems for. He’s won Liverpool’s second title in 30 odd years in his very first season.

I'd expect it to be Howe or Slot tbh. Given it's a PL achievement (specifically) I suspect it will go to Slot.
