I think this could be a big problem , teams have feared coming here for the last two seasons and aside from a blip at home to Forest you only win here if you are a Man City, Liverpool or Arsenal. All of a sudden though we are now losing to the likes of Brighton and West Ham, teams won't be scared anymore.

Even our home wins this season have been tight and by the odd goal , we have been hammering teams at home for the last two seasons and we aren't doing that anymore either .

Who was our next home game in the league after Brighton against again? I forgot

I think teams actually watching the Brighton game in particular wouldn't have a want to play like them, or want to see us play like we did against them

Liverpool 1 with more penalty than us over entirety of last season up to date. Refs everlasting favorites Man Utd with 3 less than us.

It’s really an impossible metric to judge. Unless you have “possible penalty incidents”. So if say Man United have 10 possible appeals, and win all 10. Total number doesn’t work. Also you’d have to look at whether you’d consider the penalties they got as actually fouls. Compare them with similar incidents for other teams. How many entries into the penalty area etc etc. You can’t use total as a way to prove anything imo.

I don’t think there is any grand conspiracy but equally I don’t think total is the way to prove anything.

It's a myth we played well against Brighton mind , we did for the first 30 minutes then soon as they scored we did nothing and had no idea how to break them down, same as the West Ham game the other night .

You contradict any myth slightly by then saying we played well for a period of the game?

In the first 30 minutes we should have scored a couple, it keeps being said teams will have a tactic and look at games like Brighton to give them confidence, the tactic of let a team miss loads of chances which seemed to be that which Brighton had.... I hope a lot of teams come to play us with that mindset

I'm on about having birthdays. I don't think Slot has them.

Second half against Brighton:

  • Gordon misses a header from 6 yards
  • Isak is put through by Tonali but inexplicably runs into a defender
  • Gordon is put through but decides to pass back to the 'keeper

Numerous half chances as well, one right in Isak's corridor where Hall plays him in.

I think Gordon was also through on a 1v1, but the defender had dived, and ofcourse they got the free kick. Gordon would probably have missed that one aswell, mind. There were 2 penalty situations aswell. These three situations were all more clumsiness on their part, but that game was the most one sided refereeing I've seen in ages.

I am one of the biggest Eddie fans going but to me the only home league game this season where we have looked anywhere near our best was the Arsenal one , it's a far cry from the last few years where we were literally running all over teams and blowing them away.

The richest club in the world needing a plan B to beat the champions of Norway at home is ideal aye.

I can remember Rosenberg going unbeaten at home in the Champions League for fourteen matches - which included matches against Real (who they beat) Bayern and Juve, and during the run they beat AC Milan in the San Siro.

European football today is utter cack, it really is.

He needs to get to Tonali and Bruno playing together. They are mainstays of Italy and Brazil. If that means changing the shape of the team, it needs to happen. We're not married to 4-3-3.

His managerial spell here might depend on him getting this sorted to be honest
