There’s no chance of a manager change this season. Therefore there’s probably no chance of a change in the summer either, because the rest of our season will be positive.

I don’t expect us to win the league cup but we can only take it one round at a time.

I think some have made their mind up already and are Howe out whatever happens. I think he should get January and Botman back and see how he does rest of the season particularly with Tonali’s emergence. I don’t see a change now as that beneficial.

I don’t think January is going to make a difference, I don’t see us signing anyone.

The club need to help him out with a couple of signings, but they shouldn't souly be his picks, everyone needs to be in agreement.

Last thing we need is a couple of signings which don't work and potentially the next manager can't use. We have enough overpaid dross on the books strangling us, and Howes loyalty and judgement has played its part, without a doubt.

Not saying Mitchell is the answer, either. We just can't afford any mistakes or missteps due to psr. We may no be able to afford any steps at all.

We wouldn’t, the point being what you pay in wages doesn’t automatically transfer in to how good your squad is, when you could easily overpay on wages.

It nigh on always does unless the club is a complete basketcase, that's why it's so often used as a metric.

I don’t think turning corners and all that is very helpful. It’s not like we’re suddenly going to beat everyone.

Are we playing well recently? Yes. I’m happy with that and will enjoy it.

More positive is that the uptick isn't just an accident from persevering with the same thing. We've tweaked the midfield and from nowhere the set pieces have some variety.

Couple of loans would do if money is tight.

Shift miggy trips and Wilson we should be okay for the summer window.

We'd get 50p from the knackers yard for Wilson. There's not a club anywhere going to pay us a fee for him even if they could pay him

The notion he won’t be backed just feels like the latest projection of pending doom, seems to be a comfort blanket to some to want to cling on to the idea of darkness and misery, quite odd.

Either that or the fact that Howe has stated a couple of times that we won’t be spending big in January as we need to be careful because of PSR. Coupled with us having to sell to not break the limit last season.

No one’s buying Wilson and Miggy, I reckon 7 or 8 - maybe a tenner

Reading the last two pages, you'd be forgiven in thinking we hadn't just reached a cup semi final, people need to learn to enjoy the moment more, and not thinking about what might potentially be around the corner.

Imo getting into the Europe and discussing it isn’t off limits in a football forum.

He might be "backed", but if the reports are to be trusted, we would put ourselves in the position of having to sell someone before 1st of july if we "back him". It might just be the reality, and talking about PSR in a realistic way has nothing to do with projection of doom.

Edit: as others has pointed out already.

Well yeah obviously

My post was more that the conversation has been about our manager potentially getting sacked after guiding us to yet another semi-final, and a couple of really good results and more importantly performances.

It just feels like some people love being negative as a football fan, which personally, I just don't get.

No, but if does when it is being framed as though the club have seemingly lost belief in him, it is the consequence of people getting stuck in an echo chamber and thinking there is much substance to #sackEddie #Howeout out etc and so on

For the most part, our season is just about on trend of where most would expect it to be out with a few poor results, there has never really been much substance to validate this constant narrative Howe is a man on the brink of being sacked which IS pushed often as a narrative by some, and is being leaned on when it is suggested that would be the reason the board wouldn’t back him
