We actually have a bit of money to spend for the first time in about two years and almost every player we try to sign goes somewhere else for more money that we aren't allowed to pay. Qualifying for the champions league twice and winning a cup with everything that is in place to prevent us from doing such things shows how much of an elite manager he is . Think it shows how well we've signed players, too. Possibly one "miss" in 3 years despite operating in a market with clubs who are less restricted by PSR. Eddie should actually get paid Mitchells salary for last 2 months easily.. and there is a pre-season to manage as well. hope the next DoF we hire will be serious help as how it ended with Asworth and how nothing really happened under Mitchell, we are due for a proper DoF that adds lot of value and helps Eddie instead of trying to disagree and create tension. 80 Posted July 17, 2025 Share Posted July 17, 2025 I was bracing for something there, but yeah, that's not pissed off. Not in the sense of the phrase that I understand anyway. Disappointed though. Interesting that he's wanted a set piece coach for so long. I see it as a good thing - I had taken it that he was just determined to do things in house with Tindall and co. Also that he saw Mitchell going as a genuine disruption to the summer. I think he makes clear there that he wants a sporting director of some kind in.
