I’ll back EH to the hilt and obviously will always defend the club to a point when none of us know what’s really going on with each deal. But with Trafford you’ve a player from the North west keen to join us for 12 months. Grab him and watch it pay off over the next decade. Can’t put a price on players wanting to join us as was said. Gawalls
Did he pick Steve Nickelson or not? Who is he? It seems that team are inept to me but I know nothing, I’m merely looking at the results.

Yeah just read it and ChatGPT for what it’s worth said neither him nor the two Howes have a reputation or background for getting deals done and that was what Mitchell had a solid reputation for. We certainly knew had to get deals over the line when Staveley was here, why not now? We need that someone imo. Again I get I’m being ridiculous and massively simplifying an area I know nothing about.

The Prophet
Sounds like Nickson and the Howes select targets and do the groundwork. Solis and Reuben negotiate the deals.

Hey, I know you’re saying this to take the piss out of me but in my profession (IT, I’m a devops engineering Lead Architect) we’ve been told we have to use A tool called Cursor which is another AI tool no less then for 50% of our job, it’s being monitored and failure to do so ends in disciplinary. It’s coming for my / my colleagues jobs and it scares me.

black_n_white
It’s not fair on Howe to expect him to repeat the highs of last season. We’ve already seen what can happen with a small squad in a champions league season. Hopefully the people higher up see this? At the moment we are an injury or two away from relying on Osula and Miley which is a big ask.

Wrong thread but I'll reply anyway. I can see this sort of approach biting tech companies hard. The amount of tech debt that's going to be introduced into code bases by it and the smaller pool of devs who actually knows what the code is supposed to be doing will hit breaking point. I was in China end April this year, AI more or less controls everything from BYD driverless to Robots checking you into hotels, everything's a tap, virtually no cash, ive a feeling were all sleepwalking into this, the Chinese don't miss with innovation, ive been going to China for nearly 30 years but not for 6 years prior to April, the explosion of advancement is absolutely staggering & whoever wins the AI race will be the strongest nation / company in the world imo. Will we be better off for it all ? who really knows but I share your concerns regarding jobs, not many companies are going to pay a human if a robot can do the same job I fear. Whether they can spot the next Messi or Isak Im not sure but they will have a role to play I think.
KaKa
Eddie Howe is taking the lead on transfers right now. It's what a lot of people called for, once Mitchell was deemed to be the source of every problem. Mitchell is now gone. There were even some people saying that we didn't need a director of football and that Howe should just work with Nickson going forward. Our decisions on who to move for and how much to bid is being completely headed up by the manager. All this talk of the people upstairs holding Howe back or not backing him is not making sense. This is the Howe transfer strategy and so we're now going to have to deal with it for better or for worse.
