I think that's fair measured criticism but I do think we need to be patient. Eddie deserves that support from us.

If I was in charge (obviously I'm not just nailing my colours to the mast) id expect us to qualify for Europe again I think that's where we should be. Failing that he's safe as long as we finish top half. If we were to finish bottom half I'd be considering my options.

All I'm asking for is a draw. From someone who people are saying is the best manager we've had int heir lifetime, it's not much to ask for.

I'm not even arsed if we finish out of Europe. Least we'll have a good league campaign next year.

my guess is Bunce told Howe not to do that regularly in order to protect the players from injuries, and this is reserved for very important matches like the league cup final. Somehow I just feel once Bunce arrived we stopped that high energy pressing for 90mins, but we did it again in that final

That may or may not be the case I don't know but it's not really relevant as Eddie is in charge of the team, and it's one of the reasons we splashed out on squad players at least so I thought.

This is my worry, far too many fans throwing every single toy out of the pram if we lose on Sunday. We might actually win but yes it’d be very disappointing if we lost, but you move on and the season can still be a success. Sunday I think is a redline for many though, if Howe loses it, they’ll be calling for his head.

And I'll label them all as idiots, we all have our opinions right. Let's play it through for conversation purposes if Howe were too go there's only two managers I feel are reachable for us and up to the job of even standing a chance to kick on - both at this time aren't available. 98% of managers were could get imo will make us worse and the other 2% are a gamble, I simply think they spend a chance.

They underestimated them. It's unacceptable we do the same. This game should mean the world. Clear to see from fans on here it's not even the most important game of the month. Crackers. Must not have to put up with them day in day out, giving it big licks, full of themselves.

I work with a fair few of them, ofcourse it’s massive. Will it hurt if we lose ofcourse it will but I won’t be tearing strips off myself and calling for the managers head. I’m not necessarily saying you will either I just fear there’ll be a massive overreaction if we lose. It’s a derby anything can happen (red cards etc) and they’ve been in good form recently. I bizarrely feel quite confident about Sunday 😂

Football is a unpredictable game unfortunately, I think one thing we can be certain of is Eddie will give it his absolute best to win the game. He won't be content with a draw but they are obviously resurgent and they spent a fair whack themselves. No midweek game either so nice and rested.

I understand your point but I just think no matter what the result unless they slap is 10-0 I can't let it be too much of a factor. It's bigger picture stuff.

I'd have a app your hands off for a draw before and at HT. Good point, even with another late concede.

Lose to the mackems though and I'm done with him. Time for a change. Hopefully we can scrape a draw. Will need to be 2 up though for that to happen.

Fucking hell

I'm praying with every ounce of my being we don't get beat. As a curse, I'm probably not even watching. I'll do anything I can to assist.

Like I said, he has many weaknesses in his management (which manager doesn't?) all of which are allowed, but a loss to these would make it unforgiveable for me, and everything will be questioned.

Call it short sighted. Cant help how I feel, if I could, I wouldn't even be bothered.

You say they underestimated them then say it's unacceptable they beat us - are you also not underestimating them with that statement?

Look the league table doesn't lie. They've been beaten four times this season and three of them teams are above us in the league with only one team below us managing to beat them. Hate it or not they've spent well and after playing well - this isnt the mackems laughing stock we all hoped would stink out the premiere league.

So if he loses Sunday despite winning a trophy last season, getting us into CL twice and saving us from near certain relegation you’re done with him 😂

Each to their own, it’s just very short signed and short termism in my book. If we hoy him away what do we do then??? There may well come a time when he’s moved on, maybe even end of the season but I think some perspective is needed.

100%.

Its unforgiveable. Bit like a lass cheating on you. We're done.

Tbh, I'm so close to being done with football anyway, it might be the thing that tips the scales. I hate what it's become.

30% still puts us in top third of spenders which still takes us out of the plucky underdogs category.

None considers us, and we do not play like, plucky underdogs against the bottom two-thirds of the league.

So a draw on Sunday and then finishing outside of the European places would be ok. But lose and he doesn’t get the rest of the season to try and win another trophy or finish top 6?!

Sound logic.

We could do a cup double this year and lose both derbies. But Dokko would rather just not lose to the mackems

That is pure mackem behaviour that. Gauging our success through how we do against our rivals

Didnt you read - unacceptable? As we'll have been beaten by a newly promoted team? (Disclaimer: they've spent over 100M I think so is it the same team?) - regardless of us getting a win and a draw against the other two promoted teams, we played Leeds with no forwards and had to have Gordon up front yet still got a draw.

There is a massive gap between caring so much that if we lose you would want him sacked and not being bothered about the result at all.

Also imagine giving the mackems the satisfaction of saving our manager over their victory.

caIm down, we respect your passion but probably we should aim higher than that - we are playing in the champions league. We did look good for qualifying and that’s our best achievement for, how many years?

win and he gets freedom of the city? oh wait... fuck sake, have a bit of respect for easily the most successful manager we've had in our lifetime.

You do have to ask yourself though, how well would Steve Bruce have done if he was given £600m?

The scary stuff is he would still relegate the club despite spending that amount.

He’d invest in his beloved Man U, buy some more shitty properties full of damp to let out and maybe open his own kebab chain.

You can love your lass more than life itself, but if she cheats on you then its over. That's my position on the Sunderland game. I really hope on life itself she doesn't cheat.

Consistent tbf

Seriously though I'm glad that the future of the most important man at the club isn't actually precarious enough to sack him for losing one specific fixture, at any point in time
