It depends how you frame it tbh, in some ways it is the biggest. We've never been deeper than this in Europe's top competition. Don't have much of an issue with Howe painting it that way.

Eddie thinks that Tuesday night is the biggest in the club's history so that will have definitely been on his mind and in his thoughts RE last night.

I think on Tuesday he will go:

Ramsdale

Tino

Thiaw

Botman

Hall

Sandro

Jo

Ramsey

Barnes

Elanga

Gordon

You think he’s benching Dan Burn?

Tino won’t start either.

Agree but the counter to that is I'd rather be in the CL quarter-finals than the FA Cup quarter-finals as there's very little chance of winning either

There’s very little chance of winning the Competition Crystal Palace are the champions of?

Every club that’s a favourite for the FA Cup will prioritise the CL over it and have a realistic chance of winning.

We’ve beaten all the FA Cup favourites in  one off games this season or last. and they would likely heavily rotate all the at to the semis unless our of the CL.

There was something in his press conference where he said something about Botman, so made me think he is going to favour Botman over Burn on Tues. Could be wrong like.

I also have a feeling he will start Tino over Tripps.

Playing in Europe every season for me. Doesn't have to be the CL, I think we are punching above our weight to get that. But we should be finishing top 6/7 every season now, and we have to be in Europe to attract players and keep the ones we've got.

One season in, one season out, just means players abandoning ship because they see the growth is stalling.

Yeah - I don’t really disagree with that, although I’d query if anyone would really care about the Conference League (either players or fans), so almost not sure it’s worth the extra games.

Top 6/7 should be our target, but I think the circumstances of this season have to be taken into account and Howe’s been dealt a tough hand (some of his own making to be fair).

Didn’t watch the game so not a reaction to anything in particular.

I have very little faith in those above him running the club - who even are they at the minute? We’ve chopped and changed and ballsed up every appointment (including the manager if you consider we wanted and had an agreement with Emery until it was leaked) but seemed to have got lucky with Eddie.

If and when his time is up, I genuinely fear for the direction of the club. PIF don’t inspire much confidence to be honest.

10 minutes then 60 minutes 4 days later? After 10 weeks injured.  I think the tie has a come a week too early for Tino to start.

He’s never not played Burn in a crunch game.

Jamie being some kind of middle man/messenger would be my guess.

I think Howe always rush the players to back for important games tbh

I don’t see it. If Tino was going to start he would’ve got 20-30 minutes. 10 means he’s getting 20-30 minutes against Barca imo. And in with a chance to start the second leg.

If Howe himself shared that lack of faith in those above, he'd be gone so I think your fears are baseless. Howe just wants backing for his methods, and by and large, he has got it for most of his time here.

think he really mismanaged the Qarabag home game.

Agreed. With the crazy run of fixtures that really was the one to rest more first team players. Could have kept a few on the bench just in case, but was ridiculous starting Trippier, Burn and Tonali

and Hall.

even at 2-0 (8-1) think he could have started rotating.

I doubt we were that tired by the Qarabag game mind.

was just to give the like of Hall a week off prior to the run of games that were coming up.

The Qarabag games are the extra games we’ve played compared to everyone else.  So we should be fine, then.  Apparently playing a close to first XI in the early round of the LC had no impact either.  Either the extra games matter or they don’t.

Why? Doesn't it depend on how strenuous they are? Qarabag was probably closer to a Howe training session, if not easier.

I’d say they do, but I’m reliably informed that we’ve been shite not because of any fault of the manager, but because we’ve played more games than everyone else.  But if those games are glorified exhibition matches, there’s no problem.

He doesn't play youths. That's the problem. Just look at what led to Miley, Anderson all to start. It needed something so drastic.

If not, he will just play his seniors with so little rotation. It's one of Howe weakest link.

OK, didn’t realise this was the level we were at

I think Howe took the correct approach for Qarabag.

We already conceded two sloppy goals because we'd clearly taken our foot off the gas. Can you imagine the fall out if we'd conceded that lead from the first leg.

However unlikely, and I do agree that it was nigh on impossible to  lose, we shouldn't be so arrogant to think that all we had to do was walk out onto the pitch with any old 11 players and the tie was over. The tie still had to be won.

One of the best performances of the season, with a real striker we are winning that by 2

Manage similar at their place and there is literally no reason we can’t beat them
