Chronicle and local journalists stating Almiron's wage demands are excessive... If it's true he wants 100k is that really excessive in today's market? It's where football is right now, when players like Solanke are going for 20 million and god knows what wage after hardly kicking a ball at Liverpool. 20 - 25 million and that wage is simply just the going rate for players these days, unfortunately we seem to the only club in the league with an owner who doesn't understand this.

The cunt would have our players on zero hour contracts if he could

You don't pay 20m plus for a player that wants 20k a week

We’ll ultimately just be pushed from the premier league on this sort of basis

I don't believe these wage demands at all personally.

Same here.

You'd discuss general wage demands/agents fees at a very early stage, before deciding whether to go ahead and bid for a player. We've been targeting him for over a month now supposedly, and have only just realised he wants a wage.

They actually think we're stupid. Clearly the Chronicle's writers are stupid, as they don't call out such obvious bullshit.  It's laughable really.

Given that they must be aware of our track record (squirming out of agents fees / getting cheap on wages etc.) it seems likely they never took our "interest" seriously anyway.

& lets be honest, if your client had a choice of clubs to move to, this is one of the last places you`d advise him to sign for unless we threw shitloads of dough at it (Which we obviously wont).

No, nothing to see here, move along now

His base salary last year was just under $2m. Dunno what that shakes out to on a per week basis and I refuse to do the math(s), because noting professional athlete salaries on a per week basis is stupid.

Around £38k per week if that is taken over the whole year. Hmmm might have to take a pay cut to come here.

£100k is excessive....for the championship. Mike has to factor in that he's running the club on a gamble-with-relegation basis, so if you factor that in, this Almiron geezer is a greasy, grasping South American cunt.

Only reason yous like to talk about wages per year is because you all get a hard on over really big numbers :D

No movement at all in 9 days. Tick tock.

These things take time, especially when your manager is deliberately sabotaging the club by refusing to sign a shiny new contract. If we just signed in we'd spend gazillions. Oh, and there might be a takeover happening, let's get that deadline out the way.
