We weren’t particularly close to going up last year and the signings so far have been pretty meh. Nobbs and Gautrat aside we’ve signed players who are either from teams who finished below us or are unproven from WSL/abroad. They dont kick off the season for another month and are a bit caught waiting for WSL deals and transfers to happen and having the knock on effect. It was said, during today's watch along, that they were hoping for a couple more. Who knows? As you said, the league starts next week. Would be a bit harsh on Moan, she'll be on a bigger wage now, but signing from Sunderland where she was in the team of the season in 23/24, possibly had WSL ambitions, took a fair bit stick on social media for the transfer, then a year later likely on the bench and obviously not a position where you would bring someone on after 65-70 mins if chasing a goal, or protecting a lead. I'm not sure what the general consensus is and she may not have been as good as hoped, but I didn't think that would have been a position needing upgrading this summer? Games I've watched and by reports on the ones I haven't, Moan can make some outstanding saves, however she also makes a number of absolute howlers. Her ball distribution is weak also. I agree seems strange to get a keeper on a years loan if she is not going to play. im still waiting for some top players for this level coming in as I'm not convinced so far. This is a massive opportunity to get to the WSL, with the one off promotion possibilities, and I honestly thought we would have done more by now.
