Realistic Transfer Targets (2024/25)

Recommended Posts

Woah, Araujo supposedly available for €45-€50M. Would be a dream signing to partner Botman for me

Would love to have a fast, aggressive CB in the ilk of Rudiger alongside Botman, can't think of someone better who's available, though I'm sure insane Barca wages, and the fact he'd have better suitors means it's a no go

No idea if this link will embed, not done it before

Based on absolutely nothing but typing "most assists in French league" into Google, can we sign Ludovic Blas from Rennes? 26, right winger, 4 goals, 6 assists in 15 games. Wikipedia compares him to Mahrez. Never seen or heard of him, but going all Moneyball for this one.

Looking more into him, 48 goals in the French top flight at the age of 26. Never had an international cap, now I really want him. Looks to have had a Gouffran type career.

IIRC we were linked a few years back

Adam Wharton would be good signing and one we usually make. Stock has fallen a bit this season but think he’d be great with Bruno and Tonali. His reading of play is very good and he’s left footed, which would add balance.

I know Trafford is the rumour, but are there any good, established goalkeepers we could ambitiously aim for?

I don't know many goalkeepers tbh, I checked Mike Maignan and he has 4 years left of his deal

As much as I love Pope and what he has done for us, I can't help but see how much Dubravka's calmness / ball playing helps us, however prime Pope was an elite shot stopper, so imagine someone who has both will already be at the very elite clubs

Hermansen at Leicester would be a good option I think

A very quick look up and Leicester fans think he's their best player and there only chance of staying up, currently injured

He also has the highest 'goals prevented in the league' at 5.8, ahead of Onana in second with 3.1

Only 24 as well

We need an impact signing this month like Cisse back in 2012 ..Would we have got 5th in 2012 if we didnt bring in Cisse? Surely the scouts have someone in mind that doesnt cost 40 or 50 million from France or Germany

Would anyone take Ndiaye from everton if they go down/need money?

Not a priority position but always think he looks a nice footballer who deserves to be in a good footballing team

I think he's a really good player, just not sure where he fits in our current system

Nah, nice looking player who will do well but not a priority and many more will come along at LW. Giving how the game has gone past decade, the talented right footed attackers are more and more getting played on left from an early age and as a result the quality in depth in that position is vast.

Left footed players are less of, so naturally there's less depth to the RW if wanting the same. Why I'm coming more round to the idea of getting a right footed RW, or one who's playing LW at a young age and retrained to RW to be direct. Because the directness I feel gets most out of Isak with his movement knowing a ball will come in first time when played out wide.

Posted this in the main transfers thread.  I think he'd be a good signing if he's still available and the asking price isn't daft:

Is McAtee still available from City?

If we were to get 2-3 out this month. He could be a good signing. Perhaps not the elite player we all want at RW to take us to the next level. But covers a few positions, could come straight in and contribute due to having PL experience and would give us options wide and in midfield. A lefty, too.

Going to need more of a squad to rely on and some blurred lines between staters and back ups. The drop off between our XI and bench players bar one or two is so noticeable and is actually becoming a bit of an issue.

We have a lot of senior players. Plenty who are on decent contracts by our standards and I don’t think they are contributing.

Would Kluivert be an option for a RW/striker in the summer?

A lot of recent bias over the past few weeks but he's steadily grown into a more than decent premier league player and only 25.

I think he'd be a good option. He'd work in our system. He's scored a decent number of goals this season too. I really admire how quickly he gets shots off - his hat trick against us were all almost snapshots but very well placed and with a lot of power. Good technique.

He’d cost a fortune, no? High profile player and in arguably the team of the season so far.

If they were quoting around £50m for Semenyo. Then Kluivert would cost more, I’d say.

Doesn’t he play as more of a 10 or LW and all?
