I would definitely offer him a new deal.

I think its clear the drop off in form last season conicided with his personal/marital issues, which he seems to have worked through in a way to get his mind back on the pitch.

Steadily this season, as he's got more game time, he's getting back to his best form for us.

Potential CL next season, we still need experience and squad depth, so on current form its a no-brainer to try and keep him here, unless he wants/needs to be away for his family.

Think 2026 is a natural parting of the ways.

He'll be nearly 36 then, with Tino another year experienced. It's great he's got his spark back, and if he's happy with his surroundings, him staying for final year is great for us based on this form. Means we don't need to make any moves for a RB, or if Targett was to leave, we could get a raw youngster in who's got 12 months training before taking over squad competition.

They might be hoping for Shahar stepping up in the next 18 months or so. It will be interesting to see if he goes out on loan.

Another player who i was convinced was finished.

There's no way we let him go next season. He's such a formidable leader on and off the pitch. With CL football we need a squad and even if Tripper doesn't start in the CL, we might need him in the next PL game or whatever.

He's one of those guys who could have a place at the club way beyond his playing days. If he's got an eye on management, he should take a similar path to Arteta with Guardiola, except with Howe.

I can't think of a better way to learn your trade than stepping alongside Howes coaching staff.

Yeah, I was certain this man was done too. No chance he's playing at this level at the minute. Can't get my head round it.

I'd agree he has to stay on next season now you'd imagine.

Looks like the family issues were really affecting him previously, and perhaps that is all subsiding a bit now.

Very very impressive end to the season.

Can't go on forever, made the same mistakes in the past , suggest sell in summer whilst he's on top form psr and all that nonsense.

35 year old right back with a year left on his contract though? What would we fetch for him? £5 million?

If Champions League is clinched, think it would be worth keeping him around as his experience and leadership behind the scenes would still be valuable, even if his form drops off.

We'll still have other options in Tino and Krafth down that side too.

Like most everyone else, i figured he was done as a top-level player, but I couldn't be happier to be wrong. It really is fitting for him to be playing a key role in this side as it was him signing that started all of this momentum in the first place. Running more than he has in ages, he's putting in quality deliveries and linking up perfectly with Jacob Murphy on that right side. Appreciative that he handled Bruno being named captain with such class as well, that could have been ugly. Thrilled to see this version of him back and I'm happy to have him for another season in this role.

His experience and versatility will be invaluable next season, more games means more bodies and he'd be ideal to rotate in and out at RB and LB. No idea how close he was to being sold in January but he's looked back to his best recently, it's like having 2 captains out there

He did look to be struggling on the park before Xmas and I too was one of those who thought that moving him on would have been a good move, happy to admit I got that totally wrong, he's been excellent. We 100% need this Trippier next season too

There was a moment in last night’s match where Trippier won the ball and absolutely bombed down the right flank while frantically hand signalling Murphy instructions on where to place his run. He then played a near perfect ball in to Murphy’s run who almost set up Isak. Leadership and quality on the ball. I loved that. We can always do with him for another season and I hope he retires after that and will continue with us in some capacity.
