Really gutted for him. However poor he's been in recent weeks, he's a very talented player who started this season incredibly well after a fantastic debut campaign.

2 major injuries in the same season must be mentally really hard to take. I hope he comes back even better.

It’s the same injury. Poorly treated and misdiagnosed. Twice. Many on here suspected something wasn’t right with him and the knee.

This seems properly mental, surely a 3rd opinion would be needed at that point?

Suggests something fundamentally wrong with the medical setup. You cant get two massively opposing views and just go with the one you like the sound of.

They’ve had a lot more than 2 people look at it, mate. Honestly, just stop it… you’ll give yourself a heart attack with all this negativity.

He told me that he saw specialists in the UK and Netherlands that both confirmed it was not necessary to get surgery, and the scan he had a few weeks ago showed no signs at all of damage.

Not necessary for me implies it’s an option but could be avoided.

So gone with try and avoid as we need every body going and it’s came back bite?

If there's any chance the knee isn't fully up to scratch and is causing his troubles, I think I'd rather just bite the bullet, get the op done and say see you next season. Hopefully our new physio has closely reviewed the situation.

I guess the "physio experts" (as many call them) on this forum may actually be more competent than ours after all.

What has happened then? In your view of what you know what you’ve heard and what you can piece together?

Christ, stop leaving it to the bloody players to decide if they’re fit or not :D Like asking a player after they’ve been knocked out if they’re good to play, they will say yes.

Same medical department who thought it would be worth letting Murphy on the pitch weeks after dislocating his shoulder.

They shouldn’t even be allowed back in the building.

Obviously heartbreaking for the lad and terrible news for us. He's our big investment at CB but his career here pretty much hangs in the balance now.

We can all speculate on the reasons why we've got here. It does seem plausible that there's been an error of judgement somewhere down the line.
