Sven Botman: targeting January return (Howe)

Was that before or after we misdiagnosed his injury and sent him back out to play with a damaged ACL and then made it a lot worse?

I did mention in another post further back that I know they have far more data and knowledge than us. But that’s the same for every aspect of the club and it doesn’t stop fans voicing their concerns and opinions.

He has comeback and clearly been feeling the effects of it and nowhere near right. Now he’s broken down again.

I don’t think it’s just being smart after the event or in hindsight. It felt like at the time we handled it poorly, loads said as much and it’s been proven right to some degree.

It is shambolic, Howe has also said he is playing Longstaff too with an injury.

You have to wonder how many of these players are either being rushed back from injury or forced to play when they are not 100% fit.

What do you mean no evidence it’s the same problem ? Isn’t it an ACL, the exact same injury as earlier in the season?

Same knee, fresh injury.

Fuck it all to hell. Of course we're getting started on our absentee list for next season already. I look forward a Tonali ban extension to be announced next.

That all makes a nice theory but its not based on fact.

There's absolutely no evidence that it's the same problem.

If information does indeed surface that it's the same injury, fine.

You think the knee functions the same when you’ve got a problem with one of the ligaments in it?

I see Hope is saying it’s a different injury but the same knee.  But it was his ACL the first time and it is his ACL again, no? How is that a new injury.

You don’t think they’re linked in any way?

Why are you assuming it isn't

Because I'm a glass half full kind of guy.

I don't just jump on the negative bandwagon unless there is something specific to go at.

He's been playing shite, that I accept.

I agree the initial misdiagnosis wasn't handled well, but everything since October last year has been handled by 3rd parties.

He hadn't been "feeling the effects of it" at all... in fact the last time I saw him and his family a couple of weeks back (before the Wolves game), he was very happy with it.

I think he has been suffering mentally from perhaps a lack of confidence in himself or in the injury, but in terms of actual pain / movement issues... absolutely none at all.

Didn’t he come off with a knock in that knee with a view to resting it and miss a game? Not linked, I’m sure.

Too many players breaking down again, being rushed back, testing injuries out etc. All a coincidence and bad luck, I’m sure.

He hasn't been playing well, but he seems to have been moving OK.

He hasn't mind, he's never been the fastest, but he certainly had more pace than he has been showing since returning.

Well someone is to blame because it's been obvious for months that he's not been right. I don't have to have a medical or coaching badge to see that

Not been right mentally, yes. Physically, he's been feeling fine. See my other posts. I'm not going to say anything else about it because I don't want to abuse their trust...

All I will say is, there's an awful lot of people on the internet who THINK they can see what's happened, but in reality they know fuck all about the facts of the injury.

I'm not an ACL specialist. I see we have a few on here though.

It may be a reoccurrence. There's just no evidence of that.

It there's rumours of it being a reoccurrence, I haven't seen it.

I've done both ACL's. Left one playing football, right one skiing in Val Thorens.

NHS fixed both, by the incomparable Mr Deehan, tho but

Granted I'm a 13.5 clem 60yr old but I can still hoy myself down the slopes without so much as a twinge. Having said that my arsehole goes 50p/5p on some of them.

He'll be back.

he hasn't looked fine physically and that has been obvious to me watching him play. Got nothing to do with the internet, I'm judging with my own eyes and what has been raised by many others also. I leave it there like you though

I mean if he has damaged his ACL. Comeback and looked miles off it, slow and not agile like before. With him now damaging it beyond repair/rupturing it. I fail to see how they’re not linked.

By no means a specialist. But had 4 ops in the same knee. Two involving my ACL and had to do all of the mind numbing, depressing physio. So I do take some interest in it.
