What's the story here?

This was an instagram post he put up of him and his agent laughing.

This was the Summer we really tried to sign him and then he went to PSG.

I assume it was totally unrelated to Newcastle but seeing a promising player you're offering big money for laughing on instagram with his agent and then going to PSG instead just pissed everyone off regardless of the context.

So there you go.

Maybe someone else can add more detail.

Ah, I didn't realise that was him in the photo.

He won’t be very mobile, if you fancy hoying the heed in to the beak of the Geordie-phobe.

(Lyö häntä nenään otsallasi 😉)

Don't really know should I ask for a selfie or shout insults towards him.

Funny thing is, no one here would recognize him.

Not sure reacting the same way the scousers would if it was our player is the way we should be carrying ourselves, but each to their own. I'd rather not drop myself to their scumbag levels tbh.

Fully with you on this Holmsey. An awful injury and not something I'd wish on anyone.

How was it in reference to us though?

A mate of mine was a councillor in London and on a town-twinning exchange visit with a suburb of Athens. They took him to the 2004 Athens Olympic Stadium and he asked if he could have a run on it. Tried to do a 400m (he was in his early 50's) and his achilles snapped as he entered the home straight. He said it sounded like a gun shot.

Fortunately, one of the leading achilles surgeons in Europe is in Athens (ironically) and was a personal friend of one of the dignitaries he was visiting. Fitted him in for surgery the next morning and he was walking in a boot when I met him about three weeks later. He had an incredibly quick recovery, but that was only for walking and he never played sport again (he was about to pack in anyway).

The only issue he had was convincing his insurer that he hadn't done the injury in the UK and flown to see that specialist specifically (due to his reknown).

My boss got his achilles snapped when we played badminton. Sounded like someone hit him on the ankle with a tennis ball or something, just a nice "snap" and he was ordered to not play any sports in 6 months. I think Ekitike will not be seen before Christmas.

Did mine in a Saturday morning family circuit training class doing extra burpees and shuttle runs because I couldn't do the skipping station. There was a larger Lady just behind me and I thought she'd collided with me. Or someone had thrown a house brick at it

Nearly passed out at one point eyes rolling back in the head.

Fortunately it was a clean snap and healed itself after 8 weeks in a cast and another 6 or so in a boot.

I'm loathe to delight in another's suffering, but man, what a class A drongo.

Probably shouldn't surprise us that deifying young men with untold fame and fortune doesn't do wonders for their character.
